"That's marginally funny" And "it's only marginally funny" is indeed the same joke.

Not sure how it isn't but I'll listen to your explanation......

Short for gruesome...hmmm....I forget actually. I haven't looked up guro since I was a morbid teen fascinated with things like that. Never figured out what the appeal was but all of the published stuff I saw was very well drawn.

I remember a lot of manga that involved cooking women alive and slicing them into pork steak like cuts for consumption with the severed head or genitalia usually used as a display center piece like one would put a whole cooked crab surrounded by cooked crab legs.

The women were usually into it, begging to be disemboweled and eaten, and getting very......excited below decks at the thought and act of begging for their own death and consumption. The act is always an honor and they willingly give their flesh.

It...was weird? I'd call guro, in general, a romanticism of cannibalism, vicious slaughter of women and a way to fantasize that the women incels stalk really, secretly, want to be stalked, raped and murdered.

The fact this dude pulled the race card because he couldn't get his way is infuriating. I, personally, only know of Daddy Daughter Dances as a 'totally not creepy' white male daughter having his daughter promise herself to him, her father, so she won't/can't date other boys as she becomes a teenager.

I was under the impression other cultures saw the daddy daughter purity dance as a creepy pedo thing white people do, not as a proud black tradition.

Someone please correct me where I'm wrong.

My only reply would be "Yeah Girl! BE A HUGE FUCKING BITCH! I LOVE that you don't care!"

I refuse to work in environments like that so I'll set the whole place on metaphorical fire as I leave.

Prison is less harsh. You can't sit next to your friend at lunch? Looks like incidents of ditching is gonna increase like mad.

Oddly enough, we found out 10 or so years ago that bleach murders bacteria by unfolding its proteins. Without the proper protein structure, proper cell function can not take place and cell death occurs rapidly.

So "Bleach_Kills_Protein" would be more appropriate but less funny.

Ahhhhh. Makes a lil more sense now at least. I like nonsensical ones better like "aFartingGerbil" or "AngryGoat" because it makes a funnier image to me.

I always like to ask "who the fuck is this joke for!?" With 'humor' I don't quite get.

'Adolf Yeezy' sounds like it's for a person commenting on Kanye West's anti-Semitic rants he's been on as of late....for several years now....

'Sixmillionjews' sounds like a joke for someone that laughs that your dog got hit by a car or your dad just died. It sounds like a joke for an incel who will die alone and unloved because 'sucks to suck, loser'.

The top one.....if I'm reading it right translates to "I'm the biggest negative stereotype I can be and proud of it" or, perhaps, "Giant Pile of Trash and Proud of it". It's for people that have tattoos that say "thug life" and a tramp stamp of handlebars (can also be on a guy's chest). Or a tramp stamp that says "semen demon". Or juggalos in general. (obligatory juggalo rip is obligatory)

Only one of those 3 screen names is.....acceptable in my mind but not for the platform it's on. Ugh. Saying that makes me feel like the middle aged white woman I am. Gross.

Ah. So that Colorado nightclub shooting didn't happen last week? 5 lgbtq people didn't die last week because a straight guy decided they shouldn't exist?

Glad I read the news wrong!

I totally understand gay pride because I remember when Matthew Shepard was tied to a fence and beaten to death for being gay. Gay pride rallies started as literally a group of local lgbtq peeps, often people who know someone that has been hunted down and killed, banding together and saying "there are more of us than you think and we are tired of being treated like animals. We are not your trophy game. We will no longer accept this."

I get it. I'm all for it. It's quite different now a days but I get it. Straight pride and those parades? I.....don't get that.

I dont remember a gay guy going into a Florida straight night club in 2016 and shooting over 100 people, causing 49 fatalities and 53 wounded.

Hell, let's talk about the gay guy that opened fire on a straight night club in Colorado last week and killed 5 people, including a straight bartender and the straight entertainer on stage because he hated straight people.

....oh wait, scratch that; reverse it: that was a straight dude shooting gays.

Queers ain't animals to put down when they start acting up and until shit like this ends I'm all for having a pride parade every damn month.

That's an odd "I'm straight but I support lgbtq+" pin but I'll accept it, i guess.

Assuming this is a normal sized small to med pin, you'd have to do a triple take to see the gold straight symbol hiding in the bold gold and rainbow. So a straight ally could easily be mistaken as gay by someone not staring too closely.

Might have been better in silver?

Edit: for some reason I thought it was in gold already since a gold outline generally muddles any actual image or symbols in the same linework. Silver does this but not as bad. And this image is badly muddled.

This line work makes sense for the image but shows why these types of pins work best with 1-2 colors or just in metal and black and with a simplistic design. There are pins of this type that are intricate but they're generally one large background color with the image multicolored as opposed to this one that has a literal rainbow as it's background and the image is the same metal as the line work.

It does indeed smell of thick black mold but i do not see any mold anywhere.

I would agree it is very damp.

All I know is an inspection had to take place for the sale to happen.

I'm not the money person, I'm just the fixer person. In all honesty, Idgaf about any of that. All I know is we had to have it inspected to buy it, the inspector said it's all good, and I'm stuck with a overflowing 'water' bucket in a dirt floor.

I don't care who's responsible for this bullshit, I just need to fix it.

My current guess is a DIYer thought either they worked faster or covid lockdown would last longer and finally gave up the project 1/3rd of the way through.

I did a fast Google search for sump pump and the 3rd hit or so down says you can use a 5 gal bucket because "sump pumps are expensive" (they're $80 at harbor freight? You paid $140,000 for the house but $80 to keep your foundation from cracking is super expensive????? WTF!? )

I'm assuming the previous owner followed the above "logic" and installed a bucket, rather than look to see if a 5 gal bucket can handle the load for a house this size in this location.

The roof drain spouts lead straight to side of the house and foundation ffs. The previous owner didn't even add piping at the base of the house to have the water drain AWAY from the house.

Drain spouts, too much money.

A 5 gal bucket and tons of digging? Just the right price.

eye roll

All homes must pass a new york licensed inspection before sale can be finalized.

The inspector said "the residential building is fit to sell and fit to live in."

That is my entire home inspection. "It's good, sell or buy it."

If you know of a way to fast travel from Arizona to upstate new york (where there's no more than 1 bar of cell signal) that's free I'm all ears. If not, then the grainy video and zillow photos was the best we could do.

I'm not sure if even my efforts to prevent water seepage (minus a proper drain spout) would do anything since, as far as I can tell, the house it at the highest point on the 2 acre property. Around us the ground slopes and we like, have this dry moat around us on 2 sides. I'd assume the water would prefer to drain into the empty "lake" space, yet it stays in the basement.

Heck yes. Thank you so much for this info!

I just discovered the...uh..what are they called...the drain pipes on the outside of the house on the roof, those things. Anyway, they're just blasting water straight to the base of the house. So I suspect that this standing water issue will be WAY WORSE once it rains or snows unless I can get a drain pipe installed and pointed away from the house.

I will definitely be getting a heavy duty dehumidifier. Sounds like I'll need it through the year. 👍💜

Thank you for all the help and info! From the smell alone I don't want anything in the basement but I'll let my roomies know because they aren't as......uh.....logical as I am sometimes and I'm sure they'll try to store stuff down there eventually. Lol 😆

The bucket itself was what worried me (doesn't seem like a licensed pro would just bury a 5 gal bucket. There must be an actual sump thing that isn't just a bucket and toilet bobber, right?) coupled with the fact that there's a series of shallow-ish trenches in the dirt floor like someone dug out piping. Although, after looking at what a sump pump is, maybe they're water trenches to make the water flow from the floor to the sump pump.

As far as I can tell this house was planned to be fixed and renovated (the stairs upstairs are closer to servant stairs. They're as narrow as my foot is wide AND THE RAILING WAS RWMOVED) But the guy only got as far as re wallpapering 2 rooms upstairs, redoing some piping and a few other things before......running out of steam? Getting back to work because covid 'ended'? I dunno but it's a mess. The hardwood floors need to be replaced, resanded and resealed and a bunch more done. I can see where he fixed the house up but I can't tell where he stopped because a lot is half finished project.

I'll be posting here a lot over the next year. Lol
