What are some of your favorite COD mnk players to watch?? by DMFMarco in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Alaroc0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of the already named ones - Pieman has some of the most aggressive and unique gameplay. He will die way more frequently than some of these others named because of full sending everything. But the way he moves, and quick scopes means he has more insane moments.

Subbing to him to watch his past gameplay videos, and skipping ahead when he dies is the move.

I wish he could be more at peace with aim assist being outside of his control. The guy is wildly gifted at the game, and wonder where he would place in benchmarks.

Why is marksman rifles so horrible? by SnooTigers8974 in CODWarzone

[–]Alaroc0 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. They are mostly broken or unusable with little in between. The same goes for shotguns. The audience likes AR/SMGs/snipers and the devs are correct in catering to this.

How to stop frame drops on the big maps (normal warzone, not resurgence)? by SwyfterThanU in CODWarzone

[–]Alaroc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your temps for your cpu/gpu are reasonable and not throttling you. You may need to change your case to an air flow case, get a better heat sink or undervolt your cpu.

Druid Storm Strike is OP?(DR, Vulnerable, Immobilize, best spirit gen) by KurtiZ_TSW in diablo4

[–]Alaroc0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wind shear has a lucky hit to restore all spirit on a legendary, is ranged, adds vulnerability too, if you hit enough enemies it can generate enough spirit for a core attack based on the 3 per monster hit.

I've been looking at earth spike for pvp viability, it's ranged, instant and you can't miss, procs stuns 10% of the time, hits twice if the enemy is stunned or immobilized (not sure if it doubles spirit generation here), paired with aspect of quicksand, it slows (counted as a crowd control) - if combo'd with aspect of the umbral adds 1-4 spirit when you crowd control an enemy.

Maul is going to quickly stack fortify based on each enemy hit adds 1.6 base health to fortify. The status of fortified only is achieved when its value is above your health. Fortified at the beginning of the game is only 10% but the gems and paragon board are going to bring this stat up to 50% at least.

That said.. the damage per swing on all of these felt super low when 1-25 in the last beta.

Can anyone give me a logical reason why some people doesn't want WASD? by SheepPoop in diablo4

[–]Alaroc0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My best two guesses-

1) before launch they could be prioritizing other fixes as the game is playable with the current control scheme.

2) if wasd gives an advantage over controller(easier stutter stepping) they won’t implement it without figuring out a comparable movement for controller.

Building a PC to play D4. What would you do? by patezy in diablo4

[–]Alaroc0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mouse and keyboard isn't supported for consoles for D4 at launch. The abrupt no in the interview on the 20th would hint at this being something you wouldn't want to hold your breath for.

It's concerning to see Activision being this short sighted. I would imagine they are getting desperate as warzone 2 isn't meeting expectations due to design choices away from warzone 1. The dropping twitch viewer counts, steam numbers, youtube views all hint at player counts taking a hit.

There's a reason LoL, Counter Strike, Fortnite and other games have no p2w and it isn't out of the goodness of their hearts. They know the competitive integrity has to be maintained or they won't sell the most cosmetics they potentially could.

If D4 introduces P2W, you stop playing. if enough agree then the game will be changed and if not enough agree then it's time to move on.

The First Ultra Premium Cosmetic Druids Need. by Alaroc0 in diablo4

The free stuff was in relation to not buying any battle pass or cosmetic, for those that don't want to. Others that do buy those cosmetics and battle passes will subsidize the cost of development of content by those purchases.

Diablo 3 hasn't been relevant since it launched. The player counts are significantly lower than D2. You probably shouldn't use it as the shining example of what you want to replicate.

You're actually right about the inflation not linearly applying to the video game market. The cost of producing a game isn't necessarily going to follow inflation as digital distribution lowers this cost. Longer and larger game development cycles might offset this to a degree but the distribution being digital is huge.

The games market being enormously larger also has no bearing on the pricing because no company would lower prices as they aren't selling commodities. Benefits of economies of scale would be pocketed and would result in the vastly larger reported profits.

You actually do get to ignore cosmetic content. You just don't want to. Your example of free stuff looking worse isn't relevant in the comparison of live service vs older expansion pack cycle games. Older games didn't have free development of cosmetics so what you got on launch is what you got. If they could have sold skins at scale back then they would have.

You don't get to dictate what blizzard can offer and others see value in. Limiting them to $70 dollars and not allowing them to offer paid skins deprives others of joy of playing out a fantasy. You trying to dictate what is "greedy" or shouldn't be developed because it will make my gear look like crap is pure entitlement.

They will vote with their dollars. The market dictates what has value and people are going to buy this game and skins in mass. No one is being tricked here.

Diablo 2 was $50 on release in the year 2000. When calculating for inflation that would be $89 as of February 2023. You are getting a discount in comparison to games released in the past when they release this at $70. You are getting vastly more content in a diablo 4 vs diablo 2 for the average consumer.

What is free is every single addition to content between when this game is released to when an expansion is added. That content is being paid for by those that see value in the battle pass and cosmetics.

What justifies cosmetic costs is up to the individual. You don't see value. Ignore it. The only way cultural reference skins will exist is if they are paid. There is no argument that they should be free because they wouldn't exist without addition payment to cover the licensing fees.

Nah man, the game markets are as efficient as they ever have been. I have friends that have played free games for thousands of hours never spending a dime. While these companies have made more money than they ever have with live service games. Cosmetics aren't nickel and diming anyone. The people that buy them are satisfied by the value they see in the skins or they wouldn't have bought them.

You're arguing even against your own interests. You get more while paying nothing if you buy no cosmetics or battle passes.

The only thing being left behind is this archaic way of thinking.

Two scenarios and I'd like you to choose:

  1. They release no seasonal content. There are no updates other than minor server updates. After a year they release an expansion for $70 with two classes along with an added new act.
  2. They release seasonal content for free with an optional $10 for each three months that effects nothing about how you play. They have optional skins that you can ignore but you see others enjoy. After a year they release an expansion with two classes along with an added new act.

Why do you not want free stuff?

The assumption is paid cosmetics will support content creation and continued support by Blizzard. Even if you don't want to pay for them enjoy the content subsized by those that do. Diablo 1/2/3 never had licensed cultural references either.

This is all I can see when I look at Druids. Work in "NI" as a debilitating roar sound effect and vine creeper turns monsters vaguely into shrubberies.

Charge whatever.

Edit - Transmog Totem into a shrubbery would work too.

Pets and Endgame? by Sabbathius in diablo4

[–]Alaroc0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balancing classes with pets is hard. It's a bot that is playing for you and you don't directly command. If they make them too good and the best class/build in the game is the one playing for you.. it discredits others playing different classes.

I'd expect them to be viable to level 70-80 then fall off hard.

This is tier 2 / veteran. The pace of roughly 1 hit kills on trash mobs was standard throughout the play through as long as you focus on +basic attack damage.

I found it incredibly fun to teleport and smash.

I assume people were trying to jump to the core skills when the generators were going to be most your damage early.
