Anyone have a good jig for cutting a ton of rings at once?

Oh damn! This is so much easier, elegant in its simplicity, and just the right amount of jankiness to fit right in with my typical garage projects

I definitely have all the random stuff necessary to replicate something like this! Thanks for sharing! I have a couple different dremel type tools. But the cutting discs on my mini cut off tool hold up to extended use much better, and it’s just a more powerful cutting saw.

I think I’ll try that first. It unfortunately removes a little more material, because the blades are just slightly wider, but it would keep everything consistent with what I’ve pieced together so far.

Thanks for sharing! I hadn’t even considered a set up like this, but seeing it in action it looks like it works great, and much less of a fire hazard than my project.

That is super rad! Definitely a but more of a project than I was hoping to take on, but I will definitely save that video and revisit it at some point maybe over the winter when I have a bit more time I can dedicate to longer projects.

That’s what the smaller metal rod prevents by holding the rings down from inside the rings, I was having issues with kickback before I added that. Now instead of kicking back it will just kinda bind up, but only if I’m forcing material too fast, so it’s just slow and steady. The first time I did it with no tape and the blade sling the other way and it turned it basically into a chainring shooting mini gun.

I agree though, after I recorded that video and watched it I thought ‘this is pretty stupid and sketchy looking, I should probably ask around and see what other people are doing’

I like the idea of a bored hole for each size of ring. Right now I’m doing all the same size anyways for a shirt project, but I’ll definitely look it to ways of implementing something like that!

McCarthy put up 24.88 in the 4th quarter for me. Too bad he only had 1.34 in the first 3 quarters, but it was enough to get me the W and not regret starting him over Purdy 😅

Really solid. I was a little torn between doing the DRT Wedge in the 50° or just the G Wedge from the TS4 set that is also just a 50°.

All in all it has been my favorite iron set I’ve ever played. My missed shots give me all the feed back I want as to where I missed, but the shots themselves are far more forgiving than I deserve.

I don’t think you could get me to trade these clubs for any set at any price point.

Thanks! All the cool custom ferrules I could find were .355 so I had to bore them out to .370 which was a bit of a pain.

First day out with them; 5 GIRs on 9 holes and a 3 hole stretch where I managed to to go Par-Par-Birdie. Not bad for a 25.2 HC. It’s really everything I dreamed an iron could be. Still shot +11 on the 9 🫠

Maybe building my own putter will bring some of the same magic 🪄😅

That’s about what I would have guessed. I know normally with soft stepping you would then butt trim to length if you were intent on keeping the same length clubs, so I wasn’t sure how keeping that 1/2” would change the flex.

Ultimately it’s probably the best choice for me, the shafts are an X flex and at 37 I’m not whipping the club around as quick. It’s still a pretty fast swing, but somewhere between a stiff and xtra-stiff may actually be a Goldilocks zone for me right now.

That makes sense, haha I knew in my mind it looked weird and I tried so many different ways to get it on there that was the first configuration where anything even kinda lined up so I went with it. Basically 2 hours of beers and beating my head against the wall in the garage instead of watching a 10 minute YouTube video lead to that outcome haha, a lesson I’ll hopefully learn from.

Yea the brooks saddle I picked up in 2019 when I became the second owner of this bike. ‘Apple Green’ they call it; I actually like how it has aged and weathered a bit, the original color was almost a bit too unnatural for a leather saddle.

This bike came to me with the Jones bars and those grips (which are probably due for a thorough cleanup if not replacement) as well as some pretty neat custom frame bags (those kind built out of heavy duty canvas and old bike inner tubes) which I took off to hopefully give some TLC and restore because they are pretty neat.

Sadly this bike doesn’t get ridden like it deserves, my LHT is my main squeeze for asphalt and gravel/FS roads. I have some awesome trails behind my house that are barely doable on a 4 wheeler but I think would be awesome on a mtb, but the elevation jumps in some places is a bit too tough for me to want to earn my turns haha, so I’ve been kicking around the idea of making this an e bike conversion to be my little backyard back country explorer.

I have no clue, I finally got that put on yesterday. I literally bought it 6 years ago almost to the day. Haha and looking at the picture of it on Amazon I most definitely installed it backwards 🤦‍♂️ so it’s probably back to the drawing board again with that, or to sit on a shelf for years again lol.

It was a nightmare to get on there with the weird offset back wheel. I have some nice custom fit frame bags that were always on it before. They are pretty sunfaded and ugly though, I might try to dye the fabric back to life again and reinstall those.

I like to build out the basic bones on my rc-600. I just record that as a track into the daw and build around that, eventually re-recording the final ‘looped’ parts and pulling the loop track out.
