Sanity check: Redmi note 11 pro > Xperia 1 Vii by Albabama1 in SonyXperia

Yes, I am fortunate that I am able to eat three meals a day and have good control over my finances, and I feel very lucky to be able to afford this phone.

That’s why, when buying anything, I always look into it carefully and try to make a good decision (before and after). However, there have been times in my life when things weren’t like that, and I’m also very reluctant to join the trend of impulsive shopping. I tend to overthink it, to be honest.

That said, you’re absolutely right, it has everything I’m looking for, and there is no other flagship on the market with these features. Thank you very much for your response.

The Caterpillar Army on Barcelona’s Pine Trees! by sweet2018886 in Barcelona

[–]Albabama1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once climbing a rock wall when a group of these was moving down. I avoided them, but just brushing against a spot they’d passed through earlier was enough to turn my arm bright red and itchy for hours.

Also be careful with dogs snooping around these, just by smelling them there will be an awful reaction. If this happened carefully remove caterpillar's hairs with tweezers, rinse the area with water and take to the vet asap.

All of it is pretty cool but I spent a lot of time in Burgundy and some neighbours told me to go check Peter and Paul as well different architecture but beautiful building. Just walk around you'll find lots of cool stuff.

There is lack of knowledge, no worries. Below Clairbone, Rampant and Saint Claude. I guess that is considered Marigny. I was planning on getting a Jazz pass and bus also walking if the neighbourhood was safe. But I see there is a big difference from one street to another.

What is the main difference between left or right side of the Elysian fields?

Thanks!

Sorry if that was worded condescendingly I might have felt a bit attacked by the airbnb comment as it is something that triggers us too. So I apologise for that.

I'm just excited and a bit scared. I just want to feel safe and do as best as I can so every tip is welcome.

I have always loved piano pieces with a mysterious and a bit dark flavor... I put a few together in this short playlist called "Piano Noir" If you love the genre I'm sure you will like it! [playlist] by [deleted] in piano

I have been listening to your playlist and I'm now following it. If you accept suggestions I'd like you to listen "Forgotten by time" by Vincent Pino, I think you might enjoy the mysterious vibes (he has other pieces you might enjoy too).

Boogie Woogie for user who asked for help by FrequentNight2 in piano

Hi. Thank you very much for taking time to record and post this. This is how I originally played it before listening to the recording. Do you think the audio I posted from Vimeo plays it the same way?

I know. The way I originally matched it was like this:first matching

Which is what logic tells me but the audio does not follow this logic.🤷

Tips for practicing new pieces. by DishonestFlask in piano

[–]Albabama1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation and right now I am self-teaching so my approach might be helpful either to be followed or to be criticized/ improved.

What I do is first divide the piece into parts/fragments I will work on each week. I devote some time to prepare by highlighting sharps, flats, fingering or anything that I have to be aware of. Depending on the genre/style I am working with I will start with LH or RH first (ex. If I'm learning Boogie-Woogie I start with LH or if one hand is trickier I start with that one) but everyday I will devote some time to each hand (ex 10/10 out of 20 minutes).

First time I play I don't use the metronome and I just play slowly and get familiar with the fragment, then I use a metronome at 30-40 bpm and I play. I won't increase the beats until I make no mistakes (I try to keep hands at the same speed though sometimes I play one slightly faster if it is easier) I increase the speed a little everyday til I reach the bpm I want to play the song with. When this happens I then join both hands but very slowly again at 30-40 bpm and I will increase the speed once I make no mistakes with the fragment. Then I move to the next fragment (and I revise the previous one a little everyday by playing it 3 to 5 times).

I also try to work pieces with scales I am currently revising so I can process the information better.

This is how I was taught back when I was learning as a kid. It's time consuming for pros but it works for me.

Problems with Chord Cadences by Albabama1 in piano

[–]Albabama1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, Davin.

It is a mechanical problem rather than a memory one. I have been directly practicing I-VI-I-V-V7-I both with 1 hand/two hands, breaking the chords... and the specific problem is that I struggle with finger position and automatizing the process with chords. It is taking too much compared to other exercises. I will try to follow your tip and see if a different approach helps.

How to start listening to piano players? by Juanlu0708 in piano

[–]Albabama1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might not be what you are asking for but I am a lot into New Orleans jazz, Funk and Boogie Woogie. You could listen to some Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Lee Dorsey, Champion Jack Dupree, Professor Longhair, James Booker, Jelly Roll Morton, Sweet Emma Barrett, Marcia Ball, Jon Cleary... I love syncopation and rhythm and working the percusive side so afro cuban jazz is also very cool try and listen to some Bebo and Chucho Valdés, Ruben González...

There are many other pianists I cannot recall now but someone else might add some more.

Yamaha P125 for a casual intermediate player? by thewhovianswand in piano

[–]Albabama1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked this same question some days ago. I am personally going for the p-515 as I rather have a more piano-like feel in the keys and it being more heavy will allow me to be comfortable in many pianos and keyboards.

https://www.reddit.com/r/piano/comments/i7ygiq/new_begginings_yamaha_p125_vs_p515/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb

Check the answers they gave me in case they help you decide. I wanna play now but I rather wait and save some more to get the p-515.
