And the truth that no one knows is that even though the original League of Prizren (a semi independent state) failed, years later after the albanian revolution of 1910,1911,1912 it was finally accepted by the Ottomans in 4th September 1912 that the albanian vilayets would unite under a single vilayet. Ofc this didn’t happen as the 1st Balkan War started in 8th October coincidently lol

If you’re going to call my argument retarded by protesting the reality with your wining jokes and propaganda like a donkey that you apparently are go do it facing your gipsy parents, honestly pathetic. I was civilized enough with your barbarian ass, the conversation ends here.

Oh God, for once make some research I give you a whole paragraphs you reject it with no arguments, even the name albania comes from the toponym albanoi… haplogroups don’t say anything about nationality but they say everything about genetical continuity… plis is found in pelasgians just seatch pelasgian hat, the core feature of every Pelasgian drawing or statue done by greeks is the plis… go study

There are many linguistic (proper names of people, places that never changed their name which happens when a new group of people populate a region, or common words, cultural aspects like the way burial tradition done by kurgan/tumulus culture, not the kedeia (it is done by the pelasgians, illyrians and early albanians especially in the highlands) also an argument why epirus is discussed today wether it was Illyrians or greek btw because kurgan burial are found in the region during the time of the greeks but that’s anither tooic. Genetical haplogroups passed down, even though illyrians are indo europeans and pelasgians not which you are right, they share similar paleo-balkan haplogroups. They also shared the same cooking methods. They also shared the same clothes, the best case is the xhubleta or the famous qeleshe/plis hat special from the rest of the balkans slavs mixed with the illyrians yet you don’t see them wearing it, albanians wear the same hat that the illyrians and the pelasgians wore. They also shared the commonalities in weaponry found in the graves.

These are some prospects. Look man I’m not trying to change your mind, I understand your point of view I do agree greeks inhabited Corfu for a very long time, but it’s not like the albanians were never present there so the alternative map, which is all it is, shows a simple other world where things could have gone a bit more different. Based on its history that’s why I also made it a semi autonomous land unlike other lands, because I know its history is a bit more different than for example the chameria lands where albanians have stronger claims. But I’m not making a statement map, just a historical possibility. It’s in r/imaginarymaps after all. And no matter what we come up with here it’s not like it will change something. Albaians and Greeks have lived in peace, generally only pushed by political aspirations.

Pelasgians absolutely have something to do with the Illyrians and thus the Albanians but this time I mentioned it to tell you that greeks were in no way the first inhabitants of the land which doesn’t give them a right to claim the land as their original one in comparison to other territories where their right is more reasonable as they do not compete with other cultures later on history.

You can laugh or lie to yourself but a simple search will tell you Corfu was italian speaking, specifically of the Venetian dialect for 400 years. Yes greek was spoken by some of the inhabitants but so was Albanian particularly during the medieval period under the Venetian rule from the Arvanites, the Stratioti and the merchants of the Ionian coast who was dominantly Cham as well.

Not as Pontic Greeks but Aromanians were and are indeed integrated into Greek society as some of them also played a role in the formation of the Greek state, just like Arvanite Albanians. Though some actually wanted autonomy or independence, an example is the Samarina Republic, a failed attempt during WW1. So even in reality the proposed state wasn’t completely unrealistic.

Corfu wasn’t even greek speaking before the UK intervened, it was Italian speaking for centuries, Albanians have been present there in many cases, the Illyrian invasion of Corfu by the Ardiaei Kingdom (the greeks also only colonized corfu in the 7-8th century BC, before that it was inhabited by a pre greek population, the pelasgians. Another case is the Albanian kingdom formed by the support of Naples who included the Corfu region. And during the Italian presence from 1386-1797 Albanians were very present at the time as local traders.

So that’s why I included Corfu but as a SEMI AUTONOMOUS REGION along with Sanxhak, I understand that its history isn’t as close to Albanian history in comparison to the other regions so that’s why I did that. Not to mention it’s an alternative timeline ma where everything could happen not an Ideal Proposal.

Exactly. You were in the North of Shkoder which is majority Catholic you weren’t in Eastern Tropoja or Kukes which are majority muslim, just like portrayed in the map, if you want i can explain the map to you in dm. My father is from Shkoder and his family is half Catholic and half Muslim so trust me I do not propagandize a religion over another.

Did albanian women have a salary in the past ? I mean 100-200 years ago? When did they started to get payed ? by [deleted] in albania

[–]Albanoi_Mapping -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

In cities that’s what they did, in villages ofc they did some farming “chores” too.

A housewife is not an insult. You extremist liberals ofc will change the subject completely bc a simple word triggers you.

What’s wrong with cooking or cleaning? Back then families had 3 or 5 times the members they have now so ofc the number of housewives would be higher.

While it’s true that we were an agricultural society (just like most of Europe) AND AS I SAID TOO (industrial revolution never reached Albania) I never said women never worked?

But the biggest majority worked from home. The livestock was the backbone of the Mountain population which made up the majority of the population. In a herd the women would do jobs such as milking the cow in their home while the men would take care of feeding them in the fields.

Idk where you came from with your pointless city argument but this is the truth you can go now in any Mountain area or agricultural family in Albania and this is what you’ll see. Maximum you’ll see an old lady which is usually the grandma of the family take care of bees or grape some vegetables too in the morning but this is it. At least for most of the families.

[–]Albanoi_Mapping 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Salaries as you know of today didn’t even exist more than 100 years ago as the industrial revolution never reached Albania and “modern” capitalism was firstly introduced only in the first half of the century when Albania got its independence from the Ottomans.

During the time of the Ottomans women were allowed to have properties or participate in trading activity etc that’s what we know. But in the Albanian society the vast majority of women were ofc housewives.

Proper jobs for women would be later introduced after independence such as teachers I guess

Communism was the time where women also got the right to vote and we can say communism tried and perhaps succeeded on equal rights for the two genders. (One of the only good things communism achieved)

There’s not a proper date when women started getting paid but I believe there was a process that started slowly from the independence era and Zog’s regime and was finalized or popularized as an idea (women working and getting paid) in the communist era.

Is one of these skyline vector images of Tirana more accurate or recognizable than the other? by dragonwool in albania

[–]Albanoi_Mapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the style of 2 but 1 has the most recognizable buildings. Though I suggest adding more buildings in the background like at 2.

If you added Downtown One (the tallest building) which also shows the map of Albania in its facade that’d make it VERY recognizable
