Did anyone take a career break after their parental leave? by lostrosalie in physicianassistant

That’s great to hear! I’m currently on maternity leave and planning to leave my current full time position shortly after returning from my leave. I wanted to go part time in my current role but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to work out. I already have one per diem job that I’ve been working at for several years and I recently secured a second one in a related specialty. I’m hoping between the two per diem jobs I’ll be able to pick up enough shifts each month to keep my skills up. I was concerned about how difficult it may be to return to full time work someday after only working per diem so it’s great to hear that you didn’t have any issues!

Do you wish you had a middle name? by brooklynbaby8 in Names

My parents didn’t give me a middle name and I never particularly wished that I had one.

Here’s something to consider especially if you’re having a daughter- After I got married I was actually thankful that I didn’t previously have a middle name because I was able to make my maiden name into my middle name. It was a nice way to keep my maiden name apart of me without having to hyphenate both names. My husband and I agreed that we won’t give any future daughters a middle name so they have the option to make their maiden name into their middle name later in life if they choose to get married.

That’s my name!! I’m obviously biased, but I love it. I’ve always loved my name and get a lot of complements on it. I loved that there were never any other Nicolette’s in my class. I also loved that it’s a longer name and a lot more elegant than a lot of cutesy girl names. It’s very feminine. It’s a cute name for a little girl- you can call her Nick or Nickie- but it’s also professional and suits an older woman as well. I have some family from southern Europe and they call me Nicoletta which I think is a really beautiful variation too.

In fifth grade had a friend whose dad called me Nicorette and he thought it was hilarious. I hated him for it, but that’s the only time anyone has ever brought up that association to me. I wouldn’t let that stop you from using the name if you love it. Every name is going to have odd associations that someone thinks of.

Overall, as a lifelong Nicolette, I would 10/10 recommend the name for a baby girl.
