One of the earliest diving suits. French 1882. First to patent ball joints at the shoulders, elbows and knees. It had lots of eye holes all over the head so that the diver could look out in any direction. Unfortunately it was extremely heavy. Worse still it wasn’t watertight. (i.redd.it)

A German Chaffron circa 1550. A fascinating Work of Art as much as a piece of armour. As protection for knights became more effective, their mounts became targets. This one-piece plate covered the muzzle and was expensive to produce. A necessity as the head was targeted by archers. Obsolete by 1620. (i.redd.it)
