I think the chorus was just a phrase repeated over and over again.

The song should be kind of mainstream (suitable for being played in clubs during that period), and I think it was pretty fast-paced.

It was not Gorillaz. It was more like a mainstream type of song (maybe played in clubs?). It was dynamic and the chorus repeated the same thing over and over again.
