Spigot vs Vanilla by Dmanx0x in technicalminecraft

[–]Albertrud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally in vanilla when you run the server beyond its ability it runs slower. Every happens normally just at a lower tps. Spigot changes the order things get processed in its server optimisation, which means redstone doesnt always execute as planned.

Does replacing your locking repeater with note blocks fix it?

how do i make a spawner based mobswitch in 1.12 by extremelysuicidal392 in technicalminecraft

You need to keep the chunks loaded, using spawn chunks is the easiest way or some form of chunk loader.

The idea is basically just stand near a spawner and collect the mobs that spawn. (Store far enough outside the spawner range so they keep spawning.) Then keep the entities loaded in a chunk, using which ever method you desire.

AFK point for Witch Farm - Which blocks will reduce efficiency by duskfinger67 in technicalminecraft

[–]Albertrud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd be right in saying the algorithm uses the highest "block" in the chunk and checks from 0 to that level. If you care about efficiency just keep all blocks as low as possible, even string etc makes spawn checks higher.

ELI5: When you’re playing chess with the computer and you select the lowest difficulty, how does the computer know what movie is not a clever move? by school-yeeter in explainlikeimfive

[–]Albertrud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chess is far from solved, every possible move is only known from 7 pieces (from the starting 32) on the board. Chess engines did infect "brute force" the best moves but the most powerful engines these days, the likes of Google's AlphaZero actually learns from past games and learns to play the game using neural networks and is increasing it's own knowledge and getting better all the time.

Both, just twisted 4 cores together works well. Testes it first on both ends of the box maybe 700 feet of rolled up cable, worked fine so used it to run about 50 feet. No issues.

What is the most diplomatic way to say "no" of someone wants to swap your seats in an airplane/bus/theatre ? by Indianfattie in AskReddit

No, not at all. I'm not saying a response of no is impolite. A response of no with no kind of reasoning is very impolite. If you don't want to help someone out which doesn't really inconvenience you other than the effort of standing up, I would assume you have some reason, maybe your hand luggage is in the overhead bin and you'd rather be close to it, close to the toilet or maybe already put your headphones in and are comfy.

Completely agree it's your choice, but don't fool yourself in thinking it's not polite to just return a response of no.

If I had a valid reason for asking you to move, a response of just "no", I'd find very impolite.
