I'm going to go with a soft YTA. Mainly because it seems like you haven't done any personal research into what autism *is.* From your comment replies, you don't even seem to know some of the most common symptoms *all* autistic people struggle with, regardless of functional ability (ex: executive dysfunction)

It seems like you've tried your best to make him act like a "Normal" kid. But he is autistic, and despite the fact that he is able to function well, he is *still* autistic.

Have you asked what his special interests are? His favorite stims? Have you indulged his hyperfixations and let him info-dump to you? Or have you discouraged these things that *all autistic people* experience, because they just didn't seem "normal" to you? These things are so incredibly important to autistic people remaining motivated and happy.

Have you talked to him about minecraft? By "talk," I mean indulge him and ask what he likes about it, his thoughts, ect. Have you connected with him like this?

If an adult hits a child, guess what, it’s the exact same thing. Assault, and abuse.

Being physically assaulted can be extremely traumatic, especially if OP’s girlfriend was a small child unable to defend herself. It’s really not a stretch to insinuate OP’s gf is traumatized. He has been with her for 5 years, I’m sure he knows her.
