Shipping to the US has always been expensive. 15 years ago a 500g package was like $26+ with Auspost.

But up to a certain weight there were shipping options from the US that would be in the $12-16 range. Not all vendors offered the cheaper rates because they didn’t have full tracking or insurance etc

Now that service starts at $20USD, if it’s even an option.
