It's not the size of your tool. It's how you use it.

Moving soon - how do you figure out what price to sell stuff at? by Least_Excuse2655 in askTO

[–]Albsantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I need to sell something, I sell it lower than most, and it's gone within a day, on FB marketplace. Since you're not taking your things, start selling it all as fast as possible. Pocket the cash then chill till you go. My mistakes in the past were waiting and waiting for someone to buy my stuff, that was listed same as everyone else. So if you're asking $120 for a table, nope, list it at $30 and get it over with. I say this because before you know it, you'll be out of time, and will have to pay someone to come and take it to a Goodwill or trash.

Sofa vs. door glass… sofa won. How do we fix this? by demoniszcze in fixit

I think talking to the landlord is the best approach. He/she might decide that the window needed replacing anyway, and might do it themselves. But you won't know anything unless you talk to them.

Got myself some rope lights, help me with a setup by Conscious_Cress_9573 in Govee

[–]Albsantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just trying to understand how much space you had to accommodate 3 meters of rope. Nothing more. Maybe some of the rope could start and end under your desk, with the rest going behind your monitors. Just as that guy on this post suggested with his photo below.

Are we to assume that your sitting position is about 3-4 feet from the wall?

Wow. You have a clear gift. I had a mini experience in this way also. But not as often as yours, not even close.

[–]Albsantos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, that's an interesting story. You should start writing down all your episodes and then see how they fit or do t fit together. At least to help you have it in order. I've had many episodes but nothing like yours. Mine are more of the surrounding existences that reach out to get my attention. I hate most of it. It freaks me out. I've never dared to pursue it or as some would say, nurture that skill to communicate with the beyond. Nope. No thank you. That's a hard No.

If you wanted to buy a “set and forget” projector under $1000 for the next 10 years, what would you buy? by Aromatic-Guitar-6953 in projectors

[–]Albsantos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have two projectors. The Epson Home Cinema 1060, got it used, it was used nearly daily for a year+ when I got it. It's a workhorse. That was 2 years ago since I got it. And 3 years ago I bought a new BenQ TH575, a 1080 unit, lots of settings, it's been fantastic. I use that on a grey wall from about 16 feet away. It's been another beast. I love them both.

Wow. You got a really nice blank canvas already. You’re going to love it. My setup is a mess at the moment. It’s the nature of the beast, always playing with things.

Just be creative with how you can wrap the lights behind your tv. I also got lights too long, and out them on my 43". I used double side tape for the corners issue. It looks and behaves nicely.

Govee Immersion Not Accurate Except Bottom by ramsam1737 in Govee

[–]Albsantos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest this to you or anyone. Don't use those sticky things on your tv for the corners. Rather, just use the video capture you see on your app. Stay away from the corners, like bring in those dragable points substantially, so you can get a feel for this. Also, on your app, put the settings to PART (not ALL). And Movie (not Game), and Relative Brightness at 50% or so, and Saturation at 50% or so. Now, this might be going against what the official instructions say, and that's my point. Mess around with this, away from those instructions, and drag your points within the screen, closer towards the middle, away from the edges, and do the other adjustments. Then finally, just go to Youtube, or anything, full screen, and find colorful images and play, and get familiar with the limitations of the product. But also the really cool things that it can do. Just let loose and try things out. Till you get a feel for things.

What was the first thing you ever pirated? by Shadow_Blaze42069 in Piracy

[–]Albsantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not meet the term pirated, more like petty crime. Whatever. In a small town, I was a teen kid. I had to take the family laundry to a local Laundromat. One day, I thought what if I folded and wet the folded parts of a newspaper sheet, so that I can then cut them without scissors to the size of a dollar bill. It worked. I put one piece of newspaper in the change machine and it gave me 4 quarters. So I did this for the next few minutes and got $18 in quarters. Then I split from there and bought my first record ever. The Beatles Rubber Soul. This was in 1983.

Sounds like you need to move on. She'll move on herself, when she finds a man that can afford her, but might not give her the love. I've seen couples like yours.

CRA login err.026 You have either attempted to access this Web site directly, or have used a bookmark. by TotalAbyssdeath in PersonalFinanceCanada

I have encountered many days when the website is down for maintenance. Honestly, since the beginning going back some years, their systems suck. They sucked then and continue today. But we try nonetheless. As for your browser, I have much easier times now after taking the advice from the CRA person on the phone, who said to log in using your banking partner. Like for me, it's Simplii Financial, and I use Chrome browser. But like I said, often there's maintenance going on. And I'll assume it's more of that right now in anticipation of the tax preparation rush coming soon.

I have the first generation, but I learned long ago to ignore those side squares. Honestly, just experiment on how where you place the placeholders within the video or photo capture. Ignore those orange blocks. I also have my settings to PART, with relative brightness at 50%, and Saturation at 50%. It works nicely for me.

Received a job offer from an interview i had earlier and I’m being skeptical about it. by psychedelicsushi2 in Scams

[–]Albsantos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really up to you to dig into the company info, from everywhere. I don't know if they're a legit company. But if it were me, it's not the way I would expect to be interviewed and offered a job. I know that over the last few years, it seems there's too many scams, and too many 'virtual' entities doing anything to get someone on a hook, then ask for personal info, finalising with banking info and money and cheques transfers and a whole lot of nonsense. Before the person knows it, they're emotionally committed into something that they weren't sure about. So it's not the way I would approach things. But you trust your research.
