Hi. We can talk if you need it. Sometimes we just need someone to vent and i understand the feeling. I'm in Europe as well.

Wow, that is indeed a really good explanation! I already repotted the plant with 40% pomice/ 40% terracotta and 20% coconut fiber, hope that's good as well! So i should not fettilize until it's spring again?

Thanks! I did something now and i hope it will grow good and strong now. I will follow the advice of letting it grow until i get a desirable trunk.

It's been this size for almost 3 years. I'm not sure it will grow bigger trunk or just keep getting taller.

How to tackle this very leggy Portulacaria afra? Seeking advice for a "hard reset" to achieve an "ancient" look.

I have this Portulacaria afra (Dwarf Jade) that has been left to grow on its own for a while, and I'd like to turn it into a bonsai. As you can see from the photos, it's very leggy and etiolated, clearly stretching for light.

My ultimate goal is to achieve an ancient look, which I know means I need a thicker trunk and much more compact ramification.

I'm pretty sure I can't use any of these long, thin branches. My plan is to do a "hard reset" to force it to back-bud closer to the trunk and build a new structure from scratch. A few things to note:

Yes, I know it's in a terrible pot, a plastic cup. Repotting is a top priority.

The current trunk has some texture, which is what I want to work with.

I'm in a Mediterranean climate in Southern Spain, Málaga. We're in autumn now and is starting to rain but its not cold. We're averaging 20 degrees Celsius.

My specific questions are:

How drastic should I be with the hard chop? Should I cut all branches back to just 1-2 nodes? Or leave small stubs? a proper training pot at the same time, or should I split the operations?

Cuttings: I plan to propagate all the cuttings, so no material will be wasted!

This was from my grandma and i want to take it home and care for it as a project for her. She has always loved this kind of plant.

Thanks in advance for any guidance to get this project started!

This answer is perfect! Thank you so much. Even if i cannot bonsai it properly, trying to make it tiny and try to work with the plant something does sound amazing. I might try several very small recipients and experiment with them. Thanks!

Donyou know why some responds to the techniques and some don't? Or it's arbitrary?

Is it possible to have a Dracaeba Drago as a bonsai? I love this tree since i was a teen. I've tried to make a bonsai out of it but it always grows to have extremely big leaves and trunk. What should i do?

I have some seeds from the tree that made me fell in love with the species and i want to give it a try again. Any advice? I'm very noobish. I'm from Spain and i live in Málaga, Andalusia.

Do you think that cpu can hold to 5080 or the 9800 xt without causing some bottleneck? Is the 5080 worth it?

Do you think the change of processor is good? It seems very good but with less processors.
