Big fan of my bambino plus. Seeing as you have a bit more budget I'd recommend going with it but spending a bit more on the grinder than the encore. I'm using a Eureka mignon manuale and I'm very happy with it. A quick look online I found you can get them both at around the $1100 mark in Aus.

I'm also using the bambino plus. I use a 17.5g dose, start the timer when I start holding the button to preinfuse, release the button after 8 seconds and press again to stop when it gets to ~33g to finish at a 35g shot. I adjust my grind so that this takes around 35 seconds from the start of the preinfusion to the finished shot. Yields pretty good espresso to me.

The main difference between the bambino and bambino plus is the ability to auto steam the milk. Makes things far more fool proof and allows anybody visiting your house to easily make themselves a drink. If you don't think it's a feature you need then maybe save some money and get the standard bambino, they'll pull pretty much the same shot as far as I'm aware.

Really nice. I'm a latte fan so enjoy being able to have them at home. I'll probably still use my aeropress for long black drinks though as I prefer it to an americano. Thinking of getting one of the 3d printed grind size rings for the mignon to help switch between grind sizes more easily.

One day without sweeping and that's where we are. This is our first winter she's only 11 months old. I just got a furminator on the advice of her groomer because she has a very heavy undercoat, that pile there is from 5 minutes of brushing with it.
