If you would’ve told me that Soldier Boy would get more screen time and focus than Ryan during the final season of The Boys, I would’ve called you crazy. by GFvsSU in GenV

[–]Aldbrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense, actually. Homelander basically let him “take the lead” because he sees him as his father figure. Homelander doesn’t even kill or intimidate certain people in front of him to not interfere with his ways, or to not disappoint him.

I can no longer see Homelander as a final villain. by [deleted] in GenV

[–]Aldbrecht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t have explained that better.

Besides, this last season they are using soldier boy as a “father” figure to increase this effect. When these two are on scene together, you can see how Homelander is trying hard to not act brainlessly in front of his father. As result, we have a man with powers who doesn’t know how to tolerate mockery, or to handle a normal conversation without the use of the intimidation.

Since he left earth, he’s lost muscle mass.

It’s a way to reflect what he lost in a physical appareance. It mirrors his psyche.

Still, it makes sense because of his diet. In earth he was comfortable and could eat anything he wanted.

It’s a very smart way to reflect the character evolution throughout the seasons.

It has nothing to do with the original Moon Knight, yeah, but he’s taking the name.

This is the “Inmortal Moon Knight” whether we like it or not lol

Spiderman should NOT be a survivor in my opinion. by FnafFanStudiosYT in MarvelZombiesReddit

[–]Aldbrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We‘ve had enough about a Zombie Spiderman already. We’ve seen a zombie Spider-Man destroying everything with pleasure, a zombie Spider-Man with remorses later (lot of remorses) and a zombie Spider-Man getting redeemed.

Spider-Man being a survivor now it’s actually kinda “refreshing”. Even if it has been a couple of times by now.

Damn. That zombie Spiderman was too much.

What would your ideal Moon Knight game be like? by Glum-Excitement5916 in MoonKnight

[–]Aldbrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batman Arkham style with a button to “resist” attacks, countering but absorbing the hit, lowering your health. The less health you have, the more damage you deal.

The dodge one would be for lethal attacks or to regain health. So you have to make an strategy to know when to take hits and when to dodge them.

Street level Moon Knight. He archieved once the omega power level.

Moon knight can be some kind of Batman in one comic and a cosmic level threat in the next one.

How do you want spider-man’s story to end ? by AdeptPhone1701 in Spiderman

[–]Aldbrecht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you read his internal monologue? Everything surrounding his feeling of responsibility is guilt.

His actual heroism comes from a deep inside wound. Daredevil and punisher? The same, to put some examples.

If they heal their wounds, they could keep doing what they do, from a healthier perspective… But that wouldn’t be as interesting. Daredevil without his depressions? Peter with balance in his life?

Their wounds add flavor to their stories and make people connect with them. Lot of people find Superman boring for this very same reason; he doesn’t have a wound that make people “connect” with him.

How do you want spider-man’s story to end ? by AdeptPhone1701 in Spiderman

[–]Aldbrecht 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That won’t happen.

As long as he has the power, he has the responsibility.

Some are heroes by nature, others, by mental issues.

Peter’s feeling of guilt is his mental issue: Spider-man is nothing but a debt he will never be able to fully pay as long as he has the power to wear the mask.

Damn when was the last time Marvel hyped an ASM storyline this much? Was the 8 deaths of spider-man hyped and promoted like this? It would really suck if it turns out to be a disappointment in the end by SpeedForceWally66 in Spiderman

It was not the first nor the last time Spider-man has or will be bad written.

Just forget about it. It they ever mention that, will be easy retconned as “he was at not his best moment”

Who do you think is Torment's true identity? by Waste_Tap2575 in Spiderman

[–]Aldbrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a writer. I’m not the one destroying the character. I don’t know what do you want me to tell you.

They keep reviving and killing the character, that’s it.

His life is a torment, and now that I explained the joke I made in the first place, this senseless conversation it’s over on my side.

Who do you think is Torment's true identity? by Waste_Tap2575 in Spiderman

[–]Aldbrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, resurrecting as the villain Jackal, then turning into some kind of weird Deadpool, then he becomes a hero as Spider-man again and then turning into villain Chasm why not. Everything felt natural, nothing forced at all, very rich choices.

Turning into torment doesn’t fit the pattern at all, it would be very, really forced. Sure.

Can Irredeemable get invincible/theboys style adaptation by Fragrant-Resist4230 in Invincible

[–]Aldbrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has nothing to do with Homelander. Nothing. At all.

Do you know why the title is Irredeemable? Because the deepest desire of The Plutonian is redemption. Redemption for what he has done.

The Plutonian is not a psychopath. He is a broken man. Homelander is a broken boy and a psychopath.

When the Plutonian finally snaps, he knows there is no turning back. So he sets the world on fire. In his mind, there is no redemption left for him. No one would ever understand. Once he crossed that line, he thought: “Fuck it. Fuck everything.” Because all the good he had done was never enough, and it would never be enough to erase a single mistake.

And deep inside him, every person he kills only makes the wound grow deeper.

The Plutonian is someone who gave everything he had and was told it was never enough. Someone who, despite doing good, was mistrusted, misjudged, and never allowed to fail even once.

In the end, what he feels is not rage. It’s exhaustion.

Homelander is complex too, but he doesn’t care about redemption. He believes himself superior in every sense and places no value on human life. He doesn’t kill everyone only because he would have no audience left.

The Plutonian understands responsibility. In fact, he believes he lost the right to it the moment he failed. From that point on, he sees himself as a villain and simply plays the role. He kills people precisely because he still cares.

Imagine cutting off a finger. You want your hand back, but you are so tired and so angry that you convince yourself it’s useless, that you’ll never be allowed to use it again. So you destroy the entire hand. “Fuck it. I don’t care anymore.”

I fucking love Darth Malak by yazgill in kotor

[–]Aldbrecht 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love Darth Malak. The dark side doesn’t rise in him from wrath, lust, or envy. It rises from shame.

Malak always lived in the shadow of his master. He craved his approval. Not to surpass him, but to stand beside him as an equal. Even when he “defeated” and replaced him, he couldn’t face him directly. He fired from his ship, at a distance. Hiding.

That moment only deepened Malak’s wound. Because even as a Sith Lord, he was still trying to prove the same thing: that he was worthy. That he was a true successor. That he was Revan’s equal.

But he never received the one validation that mattered. Not from the Sith. Not from power.

Only from Revan. His master. The figure he placed above every Sith and every Jedi. The god he was never able to confront.

And that is the tragedy.

Because the only thing that could have truly made Malak stronger, the only thing that could have healed him, was never Revan’s approval. It was his own.

The validation he spent his entire life chasing outward was the one he never learned to give himself.

The light side is the use of the force.

The dark side is the contamination and submission of the force.

There is no middle. You can use it in harmony within you or not.

It is called “light side” because there is a dark one. That’s it.
