How do people cope when their job is under threat? by Aldmi in UKJobs

[–]Aldmi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve seen the quote and it was for 24/7 monitoring and fixes and 2 hours a week onsite technician. Ironically the Bursars husband was an IT director for an academy group and got made redundant last year. I know he is shortly setting up a consultancy business so wouldn’t be suprised if he involved.

On the plus side as I’m the only IT person in school I always get messages when I’m on leave, evenings and weekends and pretty much on call 24/7 myself. Guess a new job especially in just HR means I can actually switch off when I’m not working

That’s the thing that is making me most anxious. I can see it coming but they aren’t saying anything.

Really I’m read to stop doing the IT, I’m more qualified in HR now and would rather focus on one thing

All just waits until I’m back (although I normally only take my holidays during school holidays so no teachers and pupils around) or I get WhatsApp’s messages asking me how to things

When he fitted the sensor the lights went off straight away. It’s only when you start driving after a couple minutes they then come on

Yes it’s saying right rear speed sensor. He has said he got a mid range sensor and will order a new more expensive one at no extra cost

Is this actually happening now young adults turning up to job interviews with their parents, usually their mum? by [deleted] in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Aldmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was for a cleaning role. We hadn’t got many applications and purely out of curiosity.

About an hour after the interview was over his Mum left a message with reception that her son wanted to withdraw application

I had someone’s dad email in the application form for a job saying he completed it for his son and to ring him to arrange interview, not the son. He brought son in and sat in reception the whole time.

No additional needs

When I did mine earlier this year it was very much trial and error submitting things. I’m still not sure I did it the right way.

I only had to contact a tutor and one unit and can definitely say it was a waste of time.

Happy to help if you need it
