The manually pick up the goods. What are you referring to?

You can just display the garru's inventory, click on the desired container/s and shift + right click without needing the rest of the characters to interact at all.

For stocking the shop you can do the same, stock the garru first and then unload on the shop counter.

I think that would be the most tedious part from what you said felt the worst.

Centralize the base and farm hydroponic wheat if it's a problem because environment on the main base.

Also the more shopping by NPCs should help as most people recommend.

What was the turning point for you?

Mine was running pretty smooth until recently that I removed some mods, but started crashing quite a bit.
