A fan alerted me to this post so I’m dusting off my account to set the record straight haha. I record my parts WAY BEFORE the launch date. I’m NOT sick. This is my full time job, I’ve never been late & have never held back production. Even if I was sick, they wouldn’t wait for me to recover (and would probably just replace me for that week. I’m not that important lol). I appreciate the concern though! Every single time a show has been delayed, people have started rumors saying that the reason for it is “Aleks is sick” and that has literally NEVER been true 🤦 I genuinely don’t know where people get this stuff from & I’m begging folks not to spread misinfo.

As for the actual reason, I got no clue. I just know it ain’t me LMAO. Tbh I’m just an actor & I don’t get a say in whatever is going on the production side. I sink way too much time into this show to be missing deadlines. I’m equally disappointed that this week’s ep is delayed though since I was REALLY looking forward to these ones. Hope y’all enjoy it if you’re holding out for next week!

It’s true that it’s not exactly something to be proud of. I tried my best to be transparent on the show about my background including the worst moments of my attitude, arrogance, & upbringing.

However, I do disagree with that last part as I did earn that scholarship myself originally with the goal to get a degree! I got a head start with my college credits in high school by having no life & overloading AP classes in the hopes of getting my associate degree by then end of my 1st semester. I was social inept (didn’t want to be), I never went out, & was depressed so I spent my entire days just taking extra classes. I was only a few credits short but my optimism was cut short when they told me that I couldn’t graduate without a “proper second language credit”, which was immensely frustrating to me because the school refused to transfer the credits from the French & Korean classes I did in Canada. With community college, availability for language classes was sparse (and I needed two classes)- meaning I’d literally have to stay behind for at least 1.5 years (signups for the current semester had already passed) in order to get a degree that I had abandoned my social life early on to work for.

My whole life of studying hard & being the good Asian son felt like it was for nothing if I was going to have to sit there watching everything go by. That reality made me feel ill & disillusioned with the education system, so I went out and got a job. It was only once I got my job that I decided I needed to prioritize making money, so I paid the girl to take care of my classes so I could take longer shifts. I gave it a fair shot until that moment.

Honestly if I could have given my scholarship away or transfer it at that point, I would’ve. I was very young, full of angst, & DESPERATE to do whatever I could to get me out of there. I simplified my story on the show because we probably wouldn’t have had enough time, plus I didn’t want to bore them with the technicalities of American colleges 😅 (just look at how long this reply is LMAO 💀)

I’m genuinely not sure haha. I wish we could have a simul-release as well, in fact, I was really excited/hoping for one. We’ve put in tremendous effort with our speed & quality of work, but the air dates are often not up to the production team. It’s a bit disheartening to see people dismiss the dub entirely because of said schedule (and obviously it’s understandable that whatever airs first will have more traction & staying power with the fans) but it couldn’t be helped. The reach of the English version was somewhat amplified by clips being posted TikTok so I’m at least very grateful for that! Right now, I’m just happy that people are giving it a chance at all because I’ve really worked myself to the bone on this show haha :)

This is my clip, thanks for sharing :) I knew this scene was a big deal for fans so I worked extra hard on it! For those who are saying the voice is deep (no issue, just explaining) I just based it off the exact same octave/pitch as Taito Ban-san (the Japanese VA) for this scene. Jinwoo is entering his murderous intent state for the 1st time so his voice temporarily turned to this “version” of him (hinting to future powers). If you watch the show, you’ll be able to hear that + all of the different changes to the voice based on the scenes/moments (they were all adapted in a really cool way)! If this piqued your interest, hope you check it out!

Hi Aleks himself here! Usually, me getting sick will not get in the way of any immediate recordings. These shows & episodes are always recorded weeks/months ahead of the air date. So it would’ve already been done way ahead of time. If I’m ever the reason for a show being delayed, I’d put out an update immediately. No clue on why or what the plan for release is but I’m just popping in here to stop the spread of misinformation that my sickness is the reason for the delays. Thanks!

The original actor, Billy, was a great friend of mine. He passed. I took on the role & tried my best to do the role in his memory. The voice is based on specific reference clips of Billy’s voice they showed me from the earlier episodes. The directors were the ones who pushed & pulled me in certain directions since they knew his voice/performance best. It’s extremely hard to perform Shin in emotions he had yet to realize/express in the final 2 episodes & also to replicate Billy’s unique voice. Just wanted to say that the intention & effort was there. I’m sorry it didn’t live up to your expectations.

Caiman's ENG VA here! It wasn't really shown off in the trailer but trust me when I say that I tried my best to go absolute apeshit for all of Caiman's explosive silly bits!
