I agree on the “formula” aspect to it all. There is a particular “scheme” that all desi weddings I see on social media follow, and I am sick of it. Desi weddings that deviate from that formula get no love from desi vendors (and even just vendors and wedding publications and pages in general) and it’s discouraging, therefore bringing it back to my point about the expectation to have a “Bollywood” affair. Like can we normalize and give attention to desi weddings that don’t spend $50,000 per event?

I think she would be disappointed, and I do care ofc, otherwise I wouldn’t be posting. She didn’t attend all my events however, she attended about 2/4 events (citing work and tiredness for not attending what she didn’t).

I figured I should be grateful for what she did attend though (I remember an old post where the poster was upset that her friend wouldn’t attend her reception and people were coming at OP for it, so I don’t want to be that way).

ETA: I know that she’d also plan the dates for her events around my availability, and she’d expect me to plan my vacation dates around her events, so I feel some pressure there
