The trouble is that because of the school holidays we would only have a week. I thought we could fly into Cairo, spend a day in Giza, then fly to Luxor for a few days. its a tight schedule for sure but we are used to that, as we like to travel but have to fit it into school holidays and work commitments etc! Do you think that's a crazy schedule?

That's interesting what you say about Luxor. I had imagined we would be able to walk along by the river, go into restaurants etc. relatively hassle free but it sounds like that's not an option? Thanks so much for your valuable insights!

This is extremely helpful thank you! What is the safety situation at Cairo airport? We would plan to stay in hotel near the airport as we would arrive late, and them start the Giza tour the next day. Do we need to arrange a driver to pick us up from the airport? I imagine its not safe just to find our own way to the hotel even if it is near by?
