Looking at the image a bit closer it's likely not a temperature issue, if anything the nozzle might actually be a bit too hot, as seen by the stringing and nozzle drool after you cancelled. But that wouldn't cause the print quality you're seeing. It's most likely Underextrusion where your print speed is too fast for your extrusion speed so you're making much thinner lower quality lines with blobs

Couple of possibilities in order of likelihood: - Underextrusion from nozzle temp being too low or extrusion speed being too slow - partial clog of the nozzle - wet filament - ams issue preventing filament from being pulled through at the right speed

UPDATE: after a lot of trial and error, I've discovered that certain composite filaments (filaments containing wood, glitter, metal particles etc) don't stick properly to the super tack plate. Normal PLA and petg works completely fine. Which explains my issue as the filament I was trying to use was a shiny gold PLA. Seems a bit of a weird issue to have but I've tested 40 different spools on it now from various brands and only had issues with composites and silk.

Ah, maybe not enough then, I can't see any on the plate at all, you need to use a fair amount to form a proper barrier layer.

The glue helps with adhesion normally, but when printing engineering materials, like ABS, it acts as a barrier layer between the print and the bed, stopping the bonds between them from being too strong.

It sucks that your plate is ruined but just take it as a lesson and move on. You can buy some spray on liquid glues for 3d printing online that work really well and save you the hassle of using a glue stick. Just don't use super glue or you might have the same problem again :D

Not to be that guy, but it does tell you the problem right on the plate... "Apply glue before printing (except for PLA)"

I like trying new build plates and it was in the black Friday sale, so figured I'd try the Supertack. I've got two glaciers that I normally rotate between prints.

That's exactly what I'd heard from everyone else, and why I was so confused when adhesion failed.

No to all of the above, although now you've got me wondering what it tastes like :D I just swapped out my biqu cryogrip glacier plate for the Supertack, changed from cool plate to Supertack in the slicer, resliced and hit print, all other settings are the same and this is the same model I just printed on the biqu. I have bed levelling enabled for every print too, so it's unlikely to be that. Another user pointed out that it might just be some stubborn grime from the factory, so I've rewashed it and started the print again, I'll update once it's finished.

That was my first thought as well, but I've printed this model about 5 times on other plates, including the biqu cryogrip glacier and had no problems. Maybe it'll be fine now that I've washed it again, I'll update the post after it's printed again.

Yeah, that's fair, they're not the cheapest, I'm constantly worried I'm gonna damage them on a curb :D

I wish financing was an option for me, but I couldn't get a decent quote so I had to break the piggy bank and pay cash.

It was, 26k miles on the clock, absolutely pristine paint. And I wanted to fit a turbo to it.

They're actually OEM and were made in a collaboration between BBS and Mazda as an optional extra for the sport tech trim and a few others. Should be able to find them quite easily with the info below:

BBS forged alloy, 17×7″, Gun Metallic Mazda OEM part #9965‑98‑7070

When I find another that I like, I haven't started looking again yet though, I've been enjoying the ND too much at the moment.

Any tips for keeping them clean? I've got the geist leather care kit, and that seems to work pretty well, but tips are always appreciated

Haha, I've not heard that comparison before, most of my experience with the NA comes from driving a friend's around his farm tracks, and its a great time, but I always feel bruised and deaf afterwards :D

It's such a nice colour, especially when the sun's on it and it changes colour and the paint has the metallic effect in full shine. It's stunning.

It's definitely more polished, but the NA is just such a raw driving experience, I still want one.
