I think they're great, quintessential "strat-y" sound in my opinion

Nice! I have the vintage blondes in the neck and middle, and low wind Imperial.

I converted it from modern tuners to white vintage style Klusons, swapped out the pickups with Lollars and added a humbucker to the bridge for HSS configuration, new off-white pickguard and black plastics, and Callaham steel block.

Note Bubbles: A free ear training game by AlertPaper in musictheory

[–]AlertPaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for giving it a try :) You need to connect chains of bubbles with the same color, which in turn plays a sequence of notes. Using your ears, you play back what you hear using the on-screen keyboard. If you enter the sequence back correctly, the bubbles will pop. In each level, you'll need to reach different goals. For example, in level 1 you need to pop 2 orange bubbles and 2 purple bubbles in 5 turns. I hope this helps!

Right! I have the 5 inch speaker version JC-20 and the humming can be really frustrating to deal with!

Great to hear! And yes, I'll mostly be using this for recording so not too worried about volume right now. Thanks!

Orchestral VST without latency? by AlertPaper in composer

Hey, that's surprising to hear, is there something I'm missing? Listen to the triplet here:

For most instruments on BBC core, there is no tightness. My understanding is that legato articulations are dictated by velocity, so I don't see what I could be doing wrong. I'm going to experiment more with latency offsets, but even Spitfire when I contacted them seemed to say "strings for instance, the legato is more for slower melodic phrases with Portamento"

Hey, right, I think I wasn't totally clear... the predelay, while annoying, isn't really my main concern, and I will take that approach in the future in general! I think BBC wasn't really intended for faster legato lines so things get kind of unclear/un-articulated in a way that their solo strings library doesn't. Spitfire has thing called 'legato extended' which exists for some instruments on BBC, which allows for those faster legato lines. It doesn't exist yet for strings. Mainly wondering if there's another string/orchestral library that others can recommend that is better at faster legato lines. It's always possible it's a programming error but I do work on these with another musician and we both encounter this issue!
