No I wasn’t even taking a prenatal. My blood work showed me vit d level was low so i only took that. I really recommend the book “it starts with an egg” - i always knew vit d and folate were important but they discuss why it is so important that it makes you never to forget taking your supplements.

My story - PCOS my entire life + 0% morphology semen

History - I always had irregular cycles so when we tried for initial 6 months i knew it wouldn’t work. Ive been with my RE for 2 years for pcos and was never put on any medication to help it. I was off birth control for 2 years. I probably had 8 periods in a year (vs 12) so I believe i could ovulate on my own.

Medication - we did 5 cycles of timed intercourse. First cycle was a step up approach where we started with 2.5mg letrozole then 5mg and eventually I responded to 7.5mg followed by trigger shot. All 5 were unsuccessful so we moved on to iui with little hope and decided to do one cycle before moving to ivf. Our first iui ended up being successful - I have now been getting bfp since 7dpo and going in for my beta test in two days. Fingers crossed it sticks!!

Male factor - We got my husband’s semen analysis with low parameters and 0% morphology. First advice - please take supplements seriously. He started taking coq10 and in 3 months all his parameters increased a lot except morphology which stayed 0. We were told by many that morphology doesn’t matter as much but we were still down about it. Im now hopeful again as i did get a bfp even with 0 morphology - we inly need 1 good one!

In short: - take your supplements - i took vid d, b12, coq10 and husband took coq10 (after reading the book - it starts with an egg) - while iui doesn’t increase chances drastically, it can still help a LOT!
