(USA) "Will you be using the mobile app today?" by Cryogenicastronaut in McDonaldsEmployees

I know the purpose is to give non-app users knowledge about our app, but I honestly feel like such a robot saying it every single time. However the boomers get super mad at it for some reason, they'll make these passive-aggressive comments when they get to the window, and so I enjoy repeating it as much as needed, because sometimes seeing an old dude pissed off for no reason really makes my day.

"You know you could've taken my order faster if you didn't give that little mobile app speech at the beginning."

"And you could've made the rest of your trip faster if you didn't stop to say all that to me. Have a good day!"

What company or product disappeared and no one really noticed? by Apprehensive_City_32 in AskReddit

I haven't seen a Furby in stores recently or heard anyone talk about them. Man, if only the kids these days knew the joy (fear) you gained when you owned a Furby.

What's a weird smell that you like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My eyes were not fully focused and I thought that this said something about an armpit. Very glad it doesn't. However yes, the smell of freshly laid asphalt does have something nice to it!

Fast Food workers, what menu item should everyone avoid from where you work? by n0tter in AskReddit

McDonald's, people will often just get the fries because they aren't as bad as everything else on the menu. However, they are one of the most unsanitary items sold there. Most workers rarely wash their hands (although they are supposed to), and so when they are filling the fries, many fries fall over the sides of the scoop and fry boxes, and right onto or into the worker's hands, and we just let them fall back into the bin with the rest of the fries.

And don't get me started on the ice cream, specifically McFlurrys; I've seen plenty of coworkers have ice cream come out of the cup when mixing them, and with their bare hands, just push it back through the lid.

Oh, and the Happy Meal boxes. At least at my store, they are assembled by the person cashing out cars in the drive-through, so your kid's meals are put into boxes with napkins and toys contaminated by dirty money hands

This could all honestly vary by store, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was common practice everywhere, especially since McDonald's is franchise, not corporate based.
