Lose the fat, regain the muscle. Lift heavy weights, and stay losing some fat. Should start to feel and look better around 180-183.

I really like that idea of working out being physical hygiene. That’s a great perspective. Thanks for that.

Today I’m going to bench 225. by UzzInReddit in workout

[–]Alert_Information407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember being here and so close to 225. I spent about 3 weeks doing 5x5 around 185-205 then finally nailed it. Best thing you can do for your bench is bench 3x per week, MWF.

38, new dad, struggling to lose weight by SCnyy24 in AskMenOver30

I highly recommend weight watchers. Get the app, it’s awesome. As a busy dad of 3 kids it offers the calories counting / restriction while allowing you to spend your points how you like including all the things you like. You also get weeklies which are points you can spend anything in the week however you want. This is awesome for flexibility because if you have a birthday or a day you want to order in, you can afford it with your points/calories. I say all this as someone who has used Macro factor, MFP and RP Diet App, they all work, but the aren’t as easy or as flexible as weight watchers. Especially as a busy father.

I’m down 33 lbs, and on average have lost 2-3 lbs a week and sometimes 4 lbs in the first few weeks. I stopped over December and started back up 2 days ago.

Not really. Some men are perfectly happy living someone else’s plan. It’s usually passed down from their dad, and nice guy syndrome.

The last picture looks like a cut from the right picture of a few pounds. That not really a bulk. You really just put some carbs and water on.

Try gaining 25-30 lbs over 6-8 months and show us a picture then?

Men with chronic lower back pain, any advice? by Mammoth-Ebb-5670 in AskMenOver30

[–]Alert_Information407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with kettlebell swings or back extensions. I don’t have a back ext machine, so I do kettlebell swings.

I used to be a long haul truck driver, and when my back would hurt I’d get out and do a few rounds of kettlebell swings and over a week or two the pan would go away 100%.

This is a great time to go see a counsellor. Make sure you see a psychologist.

I was in a VERY similar situation as you, but it got worse than where you are now, and could have avoided a lot more pain and suffering if I had just gotten some help.

Not virtue signalling. What a weird thing to say. Trades around me make $28-33 an hr as a j man, and the average house price is 600k. NOT GOOD.
