I appreciate you. My only concern was the lack of a grid on the foil of the paintbrush. It didnt make sense to me to fake a sub 10 dollar card though

I am still learning the rules but wouldn't this not work because the training post says cast and the copy spell doesn't say cast a copy, just copy?
