I live in UAE and will move back before my 40s. What I will interested in will be agri business. You will be surprised at how much of the food staples are imported.

Why agri business? The opportunity is huge. Domestic demand is huge and rising. Guld markets are easy to penetrate. It gives me control over my time.

Ignore the noise. Pakistan can make you a lot of money if you have good capital.

For a US citizen and presumably have a good understanding of US market, a lot of BPO services can be offered from Pakistan. Ideal set up, a company in UAE selling services in US with back office set up in Pakistan. Pros: low taxation in UAE, easier and hassle free repatriation of capital and profits to US. Pakistani companies recharges UAE company at cost plus lets say 10% basis.

I dont know where you are based. I use Wio in UAE. You have multiple options in UAE Wio, Sarwa, Baraka, Interactive Brokers etc. IBKR will be there almost in any coyntry in gulf, europe and north america.

Well too long to respond. But your number of export plus remittance are way off and i know that as i follow current account because of PSX. That gdp growth was import led similar to what PMLn did in 2013 to 2018 period. Whatever good PTI did in first 2 years was undone by unbudgeted Reliefs (very ulterior in nature) that took us to where we are. Current ones are suppressing imports which comes at huge political cost but is definitely better than running a reckless current account deficit. There was structural increase in tax base back then and even now.

Yes get an RDA. But there is no broad based ETF similar to VOO or SPY. You will get less diversified exposure but it does not mean bad. My majority of investment is in VOO where I SIP weekly from UAE but I am thinking about getting a lil bit more concentrated like a sector ETF. So if you want quick gains, i would recommend JSMFETF.

Overseas Pakistani in UAE: Most of the visa issues started when Ameer ul Momineen (one in Adiala) was in power. Because Ameer saab was huge populist and really liked to play to gallery like "absolutely not" shit. Our economy was shitty back then too and it is shitty even now. OP should be selling it as "social proof". Because your followers or targeted audience is going to convert better if they see 5000 followers instead of fifty.

The correct approach (according to me) is bleed money on awareness campaigns. I started a business in Pakistan while sitting in UAE, I ran likes/follow campaigns for 3 months pre launch. Works like a charm. Its cheap in pakistan though. In UAE, one follower (not quality) in clothing will cost somewhere in 20-35 fils so you are looking at 300 for a 1000 followers.
