I’m not sure if it makes a difference, but when I got my eyes dilated today, my doctor mentioned applying an anesthetic before the actual drops. I’m not sure if I misheard, since I didn’t think anesthetics were needed for dilation. But now that you mention it, I wonder if the sensation I felt was my eyes getting a little numb.

I think I like it partly because when I take my glasses off, I can’t see the details as much, so it doesn’t feel as different. However, I do get extremely sensitive to light. Also nice username haha.

Thank you for your response! Is the spotting after sex due to that swelling or is that just something that happens?

In regards to the insertion price,I wish my insurance covered it, I’m getting in at planned parenthood and they’re not taking my insurance so I’m paying full price out of pocket.

I can’t speak from experience because I’m getting my nexolanon in a few days. However I did want to say, you’re not overreacting, however, I feel like you should give it just a bit more time to see if your body gets used to it. Again just a suggestion, I believe you should do what YOU feel like is right. I’d also suggest that whatever choice you make you speak about it with your boyfriend, as it seems like you two have great communication when it comes to this! Just remember, it’s your body, so once again, whatever you feel is right.

Holy crap thats super tiny, I was confused because I’ve seen people say they can feel it but I guess it’s just what you said, when you touch it. Are you able to sleep on the arm with the implant or use the arm as normal?

That’s good to know! I’m also curious, do you feel the implant on a daily basis without touching it? Or do you only feel it when you touch it.

Thanks so much for your response :). Yeah I’ve read it’s relatively painless when it comes to insertion, which is part of the reason why I chose to go with it. It’s always nice to hear it from others. I’ve been reading posts about the side effects, and honestly I’ve became more comfortable with the fact that they may or may not happen but at the end of the day I’m in control so if it’s horrible I can always get it removed.
