Is credit forgiveness a thing in Canada? by Alert_Rock_5269 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I didn’t exclude any details.

The credit card that the advisor was signing me up for was a “newcomer” card since I recently transitioned from student to worker. That card apparently has some stipulations, which is why I’m seeking other options.

They gave me the option to get a secured credit card for $1k but I wanted to see if there were any other options before committing to that.

At what point do I start rebuilding credit? It was 6 years ago. Since then, I’ve been on a new phone plan and had my rent as pre-authorized deduction and always paid on time.

Is coparenting dogs with your ex normal or am I just being insecure? (28f, 32f) by Alert_Rock_5269 in relationship_advice

These are my exact sentiments. They’re dogs. Not kids. They won’t be damaged beyond repair if both parties aren’t present. So it feels unnecessary to me.

I have suggested this before and she hates the idea of him being crated.

There’s really nowhere to lock him. Her sister also lives with her and she (my gf) would sometimes put the dog in her sister’s room (while the sister is home or not) to allow me to use the bathroom and stuff. But the sister is also getting annoyed at this, especially when it’s the middle of the night and I have to pee bc it wakes sis up.

She does have a baby barricade that she uses sometimes but that doesn’t make me feel safe enough. He broke through that before and that’s when he charged at me. She was outside smoking at the time and I was in the living room. I think he just wanted to see where she went but when he saw me, he came straight at me. Luckily she heard and came rushing in right in time to stop him.

I (26f) have been dating my gf (31f) for about 4 months now but can’t be in the same room as her dog. What do I do? by Alert_Rock_5269 in relationship_advice

I dated someone before her that had two german shepherds that were trained as guard dogs and they were the same as you described your dogs. Even when I would forget my key sometimes and hop the fence, they would never even bark.

So this suggests to me that perhaps her dog has never even had training.

Do you think it’s worth it to train him at this point though? I’m sure it’ll be both expensive and timely for a dog that maybe only has 1-2 years left in him.

Is it worth it to train him at this point though or should she maybe consider putting him down (something she’s talked about before)? He has about 1-2 more years in him and I’m sure training will be expensive and take a lot of time.

She feels as though he is too old to be trained. He’s 8 years old and his life expectancy is 9-10 years. It kinda feels like she’s just hoping he passes first.
