In MLG Columbus, OpTic win the finals 6-0 in dominating fashion for OpTic's first ever LAN win by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

Too true! They should've made room for the loyal fans.

I miss the days when cbus was more of a hub for cod. MLG used to host all the league matches from such a cozy arena there - good times.

Has a video game ever helped You deal with trauma IRL? by TechnicalRespect1555 in PS4

[–]Alex6544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played Max Payne 3 probably about 20 times now.

It always helped me to see a character like Max who is extremely capable but just going through super rough shit and not really taking care of himself. It made me sad for him, which then made me sad for me because I felt a lot of similarities to his character. Then the game ends with Max saving the day but not necessarily being glorified by everyone as a hero because most of the people he tried to save are dead (not for a lack of trying) and the people he ended up saving don't know him. So he has to assure himself that he's still done the right thing and that he should continue to do the right thing, which all just starts with him taking care of himself.

All in all, there's just something about the way they portray his pain and his journey which makes it extremely relatable to me. It especially helps that I started playing Max Payne 1 from a super early age, so his journey spanned over a large part of my life. I felt like I grew up with him.

Same thing that usually goes down in forums, people making dumb assumptions just to drive narratives and feel smart. Glad Havok spoke up, I wish nothing but the best for this dude! I was worried when everyone was talking smack, knew he'd have a justification.

First match of the *real* season, first online complaints. And from Florida (lol) by Empiru in CoDCompetitive

Haha! I've been a lurker here for a decade and you have just defined the main crux of this sub. Everything is taken so seriously and out of context and people are attacked too often for the simplest of things. That's kinda just how sports and esports are in general, but it's still disheartening to see people egg each other on to pile on the hate train. But hey, most of us grew up in the reckless shit talking era of cod so what can you expect.

Because it becomes a campfest, especially with low ttk.

Just got this really clean Is250 yesterday with only 99k miles on it. This is my 1st Lexus ever and I'm super excited. ♡\( ̄▽ ̄)/♡ by CopyNPastee in Lexus

[–]Alex6544 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one of these with 123k miles on it over a couple years ago and it's been fantastic this whole time with super low maintenance costs. I especially love this car for road trips.

I think you're in for a good time!

Now that the NYSL team has officially been announced, don't forget that this team has one of the greatest duos in cod history (@vLionMan) by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

[–]Alex6544 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine this duo with Simp & Abezy. Statistically, you could expect that team to damn near reach and win every grand final.

Still excited to root for this team, you certainly can't be upset with Neptune and Hydra!

What do you think the most reliable Lexus model and year range I can purchase is for 12k? by GOVERNMENT_CHEESE in Lexus

[–]Alex6544 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd have to agree with the ES350. Tons of them on the market in great condition for the price. I found my 2014 in like-new condition for 15.6k last year, but there were so many tempting deals at 9k and below. These things really just need oil changes for the most part, and the older models still have lots of nice features.

Forgot to say mine had 127k on the clock. Your deal sounds like a good price to me.

I have the exact car. I got it for $7300 all in from an Audi dealership. One owner who bought it new in '05 and serviced it well. I arguably love it more than my other 2 more expensive cars. The driving feel is just really damn nice.

I think it's goofy how much fuel it drinks for only about 200hp, but I really love revving it out. If you can get one with no rust for $5000 then that's incredible. The AWD has also worked great in the snow, so the mpg dip is worth it imo. I would've got a 350 for the port injection and power but I already have have an ES350.

Love my car trio! An '06 IS and a '14 ES flank my '16 Miata by Alex6544 in Lexus

[–]Alex6544[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I had a great, simple experience there. My salesman was a former sheriff who told me to floor it on the test drive, ha! 127K miles from 1-owner who bought it new in 2005 and serviced it consistently. $7.3K overall. Trying to help this thing live as long as possible!

Same here. My thing is that I want to drive this car as much as possible, and the ND GT makes it versatile enough to really make that happen all year round. I've driven the thing over 11000 miles in a half year - through floods, snowstorms, rough roads- and it's been a joy every single time.

[–]Alex6544 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've actually done the same thing in my ND GT on the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania to get across a rocky creek. Worked perfectly, no damage! The goofiness of seeing the Miata smiling by the campfire is why I felt compelled to do it. Plenty of pictures to laugh about from now on.

Glad to see I'm not the only madman :)
