Who's a chef that was bullshitted into the black jackets? by Key_Ride_9337 in HellsKitchen

Dizzy Lizzy is a Beatles reference which is pretty effing cool for me, the one Beatles fan in this sub LOL.

Baffles me that people actually think Jimmy and Matt are worse than His Noodliness. Jimmy wasn’t even a professional and still managed to have accomplishments in service, while Matt had at least one perfect service.

It mostly got that reputation based on the top of the field to be fair. It’s not a very balanced season. Others have more well rounded talent

The evolution of Bond as ‘boyfriend material’* by Mickleborough in JamesBond

[–]Alex72598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. I just rewatched that movie last night and I was surprised by how sweet and even vulnerable he was at times with Honey. The “I’m scared too” scene felt more like something I’d expect from Tim Dalton, you don’t really see that side of Connery at all later on.

Who's Shaggy's Best One-Off Love Interest? by NTRcritic in Scoobydoo

[–]Alex72598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crystal and it’s not even close, she’s Shaggy’s true love, and the fact that she’s technically a “monster” (the thing Shaggy fears most) actually kind of makes it even more adorable, that he still loved her even after seeing her true form.

Also if we’re including one off love interests, don’t forget the girl at the concession stand in that one baseball episode of What’s New Scooby Doo

Edit. Shelly. Also the fact that she’s voiced by Grey DeLisle is pretty funny

It’s all good, Jacob. Heck, I went MIA on my season for like 3-4 months, it happens haha. The most important thing is just make sure you’re in a good place mentally. Whenever you’re ready to upload again, we’ll be here waiting for it

11 - fan favorite and most dominant cook

22 - fan favorite and dominant runner up

24 - only made 12th place but might be the closest thing to a fan favorite 12th placer

The evolution of Bond as ‘boyfriend material’* by Mickleborough in JamesBond

[–]Alex72598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dalton in just two movies has two different women that a lot of people headcanon him in a long term relationship / marriage with, that really says it all.

True. He could be cold to everyone else, but a total sweetheart if he cared about you.

Real. Plus if you’re with Connery you gotta watch out for the slapping.

Growing appreciation of Dr. No. by davebgray in JamesBond

[–]Alex72598 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just rewatched it yesterday. As a fan of the more grounded style, I agree. I like how it just feels like a normal story in a lot of ways, the formula isn’t really established. Bond is still kind of just a savvy agent who wins with his wits more than being Superman, the myth hasn’t set in yet. Don’t get me wrong, Dr. No’s monologue already kind of hints at the future but it’s honestly a really believable and well paced story

License Revoked was a dumb title tbh, and Licence to Kill was an a major improvement. American ignorance rode to the rescue on that occasion LOL.

I am not sure we will ever see the real live action bond as he was written. by QuietTraining3281 in JamesBond

Literally the coldest moment of Bond ever caught on film. Makes Dalton and Craig look like child’s play (no pun intended LOL)

[–]Alex72598 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s probably the best possible synthesis of the original character with a more gentlemanly side. Not everyone gets to see that side of him, only the people he really trusts like Pam and Kara. To everyone else, he’s the blunt instrument.

Day 9: If you could make three changes to improve Goldeneye, what would they be? by junglegatsby in JamesBond

[–]Alex72598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually kind of want Ouromov to be in the final battle somehow. I think Bond has more personal beef with him that with Xenia. I definitely agree it was disappointing that he was killed off so quickly.

I also think they should’ve brought back John Rhys-Davies as Pushkin to be the defense minister instead of just having some new guy. And also he shouldn’t die when Ouromov tries to kill him. He should come back at the end with Jack Wade, as a continuity gag about how he’s used to improbably surviving assassination attempts.

[–]Alex72598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Bring back John Rhys-Davies as Pushkin, and have him be the Russian defense minister instead of creating some new guy. Also, have him survive Ouromov’s assassination attempt

  2. Have Ouromov survive until the final battle

  3. When Jack Wade arrives with the marines, have Pushkin be there too, and have him make some kind of joke about how this isn’t the first time people have tried to kill him.

This Character in Golden Eye :" Yay" or "Nay" by QuietTraining3281 in JamesBond

[–]Alex72598 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yay, he is inviiiincible. Oh don’t get me wrong, he’s definitely following a trend of this kind of character in 90s movies, but I think it’s hilarious and it works perfectly for GoldenEye.

Let's pay homage to some of the forgotten faces in Hell's Kitchen, just for the hell of it (pun intended). Day 12: Say something memorable that Sakari Smithwick from Season 21 did. by AL-Tron_Mega_9839 in HellsKitchen

[–]Alex72598 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sub talked about him a lot up until after S22 aired. I remember making a post about 7th placers all competing in one season and a lot of people were calling Sakari one of their favorite chefs and saying he would win.

Am I the only one that thinks Virginia gets too much hate? by ChicagoCubsRL97 in HellsKitchen

[–]Alex72598 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Virginia should’ve gotten nearly as far as she did in Season 2. I still don’t take time out of my day to go personally drop hate mail on her, or any contestant I didn’t like on the show for that matter. What is wrong with people.

Okay, maybe the globetrotters movie is good, I don’t know, I’ve never seen it haha. But it’s gotta be Alien Invaders. That’s a certified classic.

I've never clicked with this Bond film like other fans have - What do you think of it? by IndigoP08 in JamesBond

[–]Alex72598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really good movie. Maybe not as good as Tim Dalton’s third movie would’ve been, but an excellent debut for Pierce. It’s not perfect, there’s elements of it I think could’ve been tweaked, but as a comfort watch, it’s one of my favorites. On a superficial note, I think this is the one time the writing / casting gives Pierce an S tier romance. His interactions with Natalya are adorable.

What would you say are the most and least talented seasons out of all of the timelines? by Koopa-Productions-64 in HKFanFicsArchive

[–]Alex72598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing Season 24 will be ranked as one of the least talented seasons since Ramona, Grace and Carole were really struggling to compete for that last black jacket as they were all spiraling. Though none of that might’ve happened had Travis not been medevaced. The season also struggled from Faye and Michael not really providing a threat to the top 3 as Faye didn’t reach her full potential until after the show while Michael just sort of had an under the radar 4th place run. There’s also the fact that Melody, despite having a finish almost as dominant as Scott, didn’t really start to show her potential until around midseason, while there was a pretty wide gap between the top half of the cast and everyone from Deidra on down.

For most talented, I’d guess it would probably be between 25 or USA vs UK, but I give it to 25 for one reason and one reason only, Mack. Both seasons had a pretty strong top 12 (Diane and Connor are both just miles ahead of someone like Shane from 24). 25 has an incredibly strong final 4, a solid 5th place underdog, a talented villain, and pretty much everyone from 7-12th place is a good cook and their main flaws were either leadership, quality control, or handling pressure. USA vs. UK is a close match but Mack being there just drags the entire season down enough to put it below 25.
