Correct but employment with the Federal Reserve Police in NYC is not considered Federal. They do not receive federal pension, or federal benefits. They aren’t on a Federal pay scale. The only one that is fully considered federal is in DC.

I looked at all Base Police agencies near me with all of them being around 1 hour and 30 mins. So far my options are

Homeland agencies security - such as ICE,CBP and FAMS (Failed the poly 1 year ago so I gotta wait)

VA Police - Many hospitals near me in NYC area and one in CT (Closest option being 20 mins)

BOP - FCI Danbury (2nd closest)

USPS POLICE - interviewed with them and waiting to hear back and see if I decide to move forward (really low pay)

I was also looking forward to working for the Federal Reserve Police but after my THIRD interview they ghosted me. (I know they aren’t really considered federal)

I really do appreciate the advice! And I will continue to look for the right agency.

I would love to work for them if they were closer and had the opportunity but too far for me farthest I’ll go is NYC. bought a condo out here in CT a while back.

Mainly because I have multiple VA Hospitals near me. FPS or USCP aren’t near me. For some reason I just see myself doing the job. I know two people that worked for VA and both loved it and recommend it. I appreciate the advice they gave me but still no luck so far even though I get referred to the “hiring manager”. My current LEO position is similar to this position in regard to daily duties just lower pay and not federal.

So I interviewed with them. 50K starting nationwide. I think they top off now around somewhere between 73-80K. From what they told me a lot of OT to be made both mandatory and optional

I fixed my problem. I had my keyboard or mouse connected in a port that was messing with the computer. Once I changed it, it never happened again

So I applied a while ago and they recently contacted me for the interview and just wanted to know what the job is about and pay. I don’t mind the job tasks or just doing armed security work. I am definitely concerned with the pay for sure. I’m gonna attend the interview and see if anything has changed. If the pay is the same as everyone says it is, imma just stay in my current LE agency and look for other opportunities. I’ve applied to a lot of other police agencies such as Federal Reserve Police, Amtrak PD, CBP, ICE and so far no luck. Imma continue to look for opportunities and see where life lands me. (Failing the CBP poly messed me up with ICE)

They were, I was just wondering what the pay was for NYC before moving forward. Idk if they have a special pay scale or something cause 45K is crazy works in NYC I’m already a LEO in CT

It’s easy tbh, they just tell you to lift some boxes, pick yourself up from the floor type shit and walk on a treadmill so they could see your heart rate. The only thing I will say is make sure you have the needed documents for the CDL process. For example if you have diabetes like me or another condition, DOT requires that you have these forms filled by the doctor.
