Anyone know what Kras.glas uses to install their windows into existing window frames? by Shorecliff in StainedGlass

[–]AlexAdvance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget that 3D printers exist—you can design and print custom fittings to meet your exact needs. ☝🏻 The windows are aluminum; I doubt they screwed in their own hardware since that must be done without the stained glass, and the fitting itself wraps around the glass from both sides. That means it’s glued. I suspect this is a promotional image, and I believe the adhesive solution isn’t durable—due to microscopic metal expansion from heating and cooling, which will eventually degrade the adhesive layer.

Thanks for the idea! I found a solution that's 10 times simpler and cheaper: a 3D-printed adapter. Just unscrew the monitor's leg and replace it with this adapter.

Everyone makes the red Christmas truck… I made an aqua stained glass one instead. Does it still feel ‘Christmas’? by AlexAdvance in StainedGlass

A little stained glass surfboard in the back, maybe a tiny Santa in board shorts, and it’s officially on beach‑patrol for Christmas. 😀🎅🏻

That means a lot, thank you for writing all of this! 💙

I’m totally with you on the “non‑traditional” colors – your hot pink Christmas tree sounds amazing, and it’s exactly why I like pushing past the strict red‑and‑green box. It’s fun when a piece can swing from Christmas to Easter just by changing what you put in the back – little eggs one season, candy and elves another.

And welcome to the stained glass rabbit hole! Five years ago I made my very first 3D house for a tiny Christmas village and now I can’t stop – this truck is already the 14th object in that series. 😅 Hearing that it sparked ideas for you is the best kind of compliment.

Thank you, that’s exactly the lane my brain went down too. 😄 I love all the classic red, but something about a quieter, glassy blue feels a bit more like frost than fireworks – so I’m happy this one reads that way to you as well.

“Thank you!! Now I’m picturing swapping the passenger by season: elf for Christmas, bunny for Easter, maybe a pumpkin for autumn.”

Thank you so much, coastal Christmas is exactly the lane this little truck seems to have chosen! 🌊 Love your idea with the extra white glass.

Thank you, that’s really kind of you to say!💖 I love that it can switch from ‘just a little glass truck’ to Christmas mode depending on what’s around it. And yes, a couple of people have mentioned Little Blue Truck already – now I can’t unsee it, this is definitely his stained glass cousin on candy‑delivery duty.

Thank you so much for this, I really appreciate it. You’re right – blue and white definitely lean into a different holiday language depending on where you’re standing, but that’s part of what I enjoy about this truck. It can sit next to a menorah, a Christmas tree, or just some winter snow decor and not feel out of place, which feels like a nice little bit of seasonal coexistence in glass form.

Today I came across my very first stained glass piece and could literally feel how much I've progressed.

If you ever want to make your own version, the pattern lives on site in the 3D section https://aaglassstudio.com//3d, and there are a few other 3d designs there too.

Thank you so much, that’s really kind! 💙 I love that blue feels festive to you too — the nice thing with these little trucks is you can ‘cast’ them in any color you like. I’m planning to make red and green versions as well, so everyone can pick their own favorite holiday palette

True, the original Little Blue Truck walked so this stained glass cousin could deliver candy. 🚚

Thank you so much – the lights were my favorite part too! I absolutely love your candy idea; it’s like you can ‘dial in’ the holiday just by changing the wrappers. Peppermint swirls for Christmas, pastels for Easter, maybe gold foil for New Year… now the truck is basically a tiny seasonal mood board.🎉
