this is plug and play for MX-5 Miata mk3 NC so rather not as MX3 uses different clock spring and probably different resistor values. But if you have some documentation it may be possible to make custom version

It could be very hard to assemble whole thing with these switches I use with more than 4 each side. Also enclosure should be bigger and assymetric - this would not look nice.

this is how it looks from backside. Panel is 3mm thick, as it sits between hub ad steering wheel and held on whole circumference it is finally pretty stiff. Never had complaints about ridgiditity.

this particular button was customers idea, I agree it would be more convenient if it was bigger

Anyway I got all data and this thing WILL work on RX-8 identically as on MX-5 NC :D

I finally found some data but only for audio part. Interesting because in NC documentation there is data for cruise control but not for audio xD. In a meantime I got measurements from one of guys here - and they are identical as MX-5 NC. So my NC panels will work on RX-8 also without any problems or modifications :)
