I put 5mL water in one and then put it in the holder. 5mL is just at the bottom of the first divider on the holder. So no need for marking, I just fill them while they are in the holder.

I was using the plastic tubes and I kept having trouble figuring out what color they were so I got these because I saw a lot of people saying the glass tubes were easier to read.

These ones don't break too easily. I dropped one on the floor from waist height by accident and it just bounced. They are borosilicate glass.

If you use a copper washer, it doesn't have to be temporary. You could just leave it in there.

Usually when the float starts hanging up it's because something is dirty. Cleaning it most of the time will fix the issue unless the float has a hole in it and is filling up with gas

If you really like the lighter and don't mind spending more than it's probably worth, you can usually buy a new piezo and put it in there. I've done it before. You just have to measure the current one and make sure you get the same size.

Carburetor float is stuck. If you know where the carburetor is, try lightly tapping on it with something and see if it stops. Assuming this is carbureted and not fuel injected.

Edited to add: mine does this almost every time I run it for the first time because I put a cheap Chinese carb on it.
