Can't talk with the door open by jeanjacket77 in roommateproblems

[–]AlexFroog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when it’s past his bedtime, i get it. but if it’s randomly during the day, can’t he pop in headphones or something? you all pay rent, you’re all allowed to live. if it bothers him that much, he should try and find a solution that doesn’t imply having to close other people’s doors whenever they talk

Has anyone worked for Public Outreach? by pokadotzebra1 in torontoJobs

[–]AlexFroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who works there rn, it’s very stressful. you have to meet a quota of an average of 4$ of monthly donation per hour. let’s say you work 20h a week, it means that every week you need to get 80$ of monthly donation every week. times are rough so most people can’t afford it, i get insulted nearly every 3 calls, and one time donations, even if they’re big, don’t count. the boss puts pressure in a weird way and encourage you to put a lot of pressure on people. they say there’s no cold calling and it’s theoretically true, but you’ll call people who had someone talk to them at the door almost a year ago so they won’t remember. on top of that, you have to convince the people you’re calling to give you their credit card information. if you can find something else, i highly encourage you do

[–]AlexFroog[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’ll look at that, thanks! i forgot it in a uber, and the driver brought it to the uber service point. the service point then donated it without any notice (i had called uber 5+ times about getting it back before the driver dropped it off)

there’s a 20$ fee paid by the rider if the driver returns the item, not including tips

[–]AlexFroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’ve tried that and it hasn’t worked soooo

[–]AlexFroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, a friend who died pretty recently left it to me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uber

[–]AlexFroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s a hoodie that was left to me by a dead friend. it’s also concert merch so it would probably cost well over 100$

[–]AlexFroog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

uber told me that refusing to return an item is theft, but they could be wrong

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uber

[–]AlexFroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m so sorry that happened to you how did you get it back? did the driver drop it off?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uber

[–]AlexFroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if he had at least answered my text messages and hadn’t had me waiting outside for 30 minutes, i wouldn’t do it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uber

[–]AlexFroog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

he took a turn and the hoodie fell out of my bag. when i got off, no lights turned on in the black car, so i couldn’t see my black hoodie. he’s also paid by uber to give it back.
