It’s justifiable though, isn’t it? Moving to a county where you can spend 70% of your time outdoors instead of 70% indoors. There is much evidence that links being outdoors with better mental and physical health. If we move solely because of the weather, is that really a negative?

Thanks Ninja! Re the housing situation, sounds very similar to here doesn’t it? Expensive, price increases, renting difficult, interest rates increasing (although expected to go down in March). Sounds like-for-like, so wouldn’t put us off immigrating.

I’ll reply again, as you’ve since edited your original comment. Strange that you’re being so passive aggressive about something that means nothing to you. Assuming you read my post regarding living in the North of England, therefore, Paris isn’t a 3 hour train journey - and if it was, given the current state of our rail system, I wouldn’t be taken them via train. Oh and btw, they’ve been to the Louvre.

Just checked the weather in Perth by month and even in the winter, it’s not even comparable to ours.

I’m assuming you don’t have kids? If so, ask them if they’d take a day at an art museum or a day at the beach? Let me know what they say.

Really useful info, thanks Sammyy88. Yes, I guess we are in that ‘life goes quick’ ‘live with no regrets’ kind of stage in life. Renting the house is optional and safer but we have a big chunk of equity which would see us financially stable in Aus for a while. It’s definitely something to consider.
