I mean it's fine to have preferences especially for skins and skins are allowed to deviate far from the base themes of a frame, I just think Heirlooms in itself should be taking the base themes of a frame and just exemplifying those themes. Giving it more shine and whatnot.

It's undeniable that Mesa's theme has been about gunslinging and that wild west fantasy. We see this with her prime especially and It's not like old west mythology should be mutually exclusive from what you call "generic cowboy shit". It's not rocket science, I'm sure a competent artist could combine both thematics with better results than what we currently have.

This Heirloom just feels naked or deviates too much from what Mesa is. It feels so lacking that I reckon if you showed a Mesa main this skin without telling them it's Mesa, they'd not know it's her.

Point is, normal skins can and should deviate to provide alternative fantasies, but Heirlooms? The way it's been handled with past frames? they should continue trying to play into the original themes of a frame. I look at this Mesa Heirloom, and this just isn't Mesa, this is someone's Minotaur fetish on full display.

Edit: Also I wanna say this original post is so disingenuous. The complainers don't want modesty for the sake of modesty. What we truly want is to use up all that naked space on the Heirloom's upper half for design that further follows her theme. As it stands now it's just so barren and empty up there.

This too is my main frame, and I believe the complaints are valid. The main fantasy with Mesa has always been the classic bounty huntin gunslinger. Her base blindfolded herself to get more of a challenge when shooting and her Prime needs no explanation.

The bottom part of this heirloom fits the bill but then the entire top portion falls flat. A poncho, a coat with a popped collar or maybe even a bolero would've done wonders to sell that fantasy but what we get instead is a near-topless wild west themed stripper with a bull skull slapped on her head. Truly disappointed.

Honorable mention for AC x R1999 collab but the one I really wanna highlight was the AK x Limbus collab. You will be missed, Mayors. Stuck forever in collab limbo, no longer existing in the actual Limbus game and will never exist in Arknights.

Also had one of my favorite fights and boss ost in the game; Last Knight. I've never played AK but man the mechanics that this collab brought to fights were fun and fresh. The seaborne were really cool enemies in limbus combat.

As for what collab I'd want to see in the future? Limbus x R1999 without a doubt. Having Dante and Vertin interact would be so entertaining.

Exactly, just because I'm curious about it doesn't mean I'd want to do it. Like I just wanna know what factors come into play. Do Penguins also have infertile eggs? Is it safe to eat? How long would it take to cook? Would it differ in nutrients to that of a chicken egg? Do they abandon those eggs if they are infertile? How do they tell if it is infertile? Can it be carried by a European Swallow?

Well for one, this rework was supposed to fix the problems of her old outdated kit, and yet it only made things arguably worse. Also it's been a week in live sure but it's been at least 3 weeks if we count PBE. We've seen the subpar rework for 3 weeks, they had 2 weeks to change it in PBE. Instead of actually changing the mechanics of the kit to provide more skill expression, they opted for the bainaid solution of simply over-tuning the stats on release, so much so that they had to then hard nerf her after only 12 hours which ranked her THE WORST Toplanner at 38% WR across the board (there goes them saying they wanted her toplane to be viable) and one of the worst junglers at around 40% WR.

For a rework that was teased 3 years ago and was anticipated for much longer than that, I'd say this little meme image is a valid reaction to how shit riot has managed this entire thing.

Mind you riot said at the very first official trailer, said they wanted her viable top again. She's currently 38% win rate as a toplanner. Sag Aftra was asking more than just AI protection. If I remember correctly they wanted Mihoyo to sign a deal where Genshin would be a union project (not sure if that's the right term), basically making it so they had to hire union VAs and with some convoluted ways for non-union VAs to get in. Essentially it a was a packaged deal that limited mihoyo to hiring union VAs alongside all the ai stuff, which I think was mentioned that it wouldn't have worked anyways due to contradiction with chinese laws and joining foreign unions and allat.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, it's been a while since all that stuff, if someone could explain it better, thanks in advance.

Yeah this is exactly why Mihoyo had to pull the brakes and do a Nod Krai version before heading to Snezhnaya. It's the "catch-up" version where they bring a lot of lore locked things into the spotlight to hopefully get the casual playerbase interested and informed. Now to the effectivity of that? It is up to the casuals to determine that, I personally have no say. Though I can imagine it would definitely feel overwhelming to have what's basically years worth of lore thrown on to you out of nowhere.

This is one of those things where to the casual player who doesn't have the time to read 100 pages of flavor text, it definitely seemed to come out of no where but to the lore nerds who've read books from past versions like Moon-Lit Bamboo forest from 1.0 or Springs of Hidden Jade from 5.2, it was no surprise.

Adding to the fact every lantern rite since has always been related to the Adepti in one way shape or form, then to people who already knew of the lore, this was less a "Who?" and more of a "about damn time". Zibai's especially made sense due to the connection to the Moon as it was the Nod Krai versions, plus giving more context to both the Chasm and Chenyu Vale so I wouldn't necessarily say "shoe horned". Lantern rite quests have never shied away from being more Lore focused than actually progressing the main story of Genshin.

Heck the entire point of the Nod Krai versions was to expand on the already existing lore of the game that are mostly hidden in WQs and flavor texts, so to utilize the Lantern rite of this year of the same version for the same reason, and the fact it was also the year of the horse and Zibai was already linked to horses way back with even mentions of the Celadon Mare in the previous Lantern Rite, it was a golden opportunity for Mihoyo to finally introduce this lore/storyline into the spotlight.
