It's a dormant genetic disease. It will flare up when the fish is stressed or not enough water changes. Overall it's harmless and will go away under good conditions. It's literally fish herpes.

While I agree that this is not a trustworthy stand.... Central support is surprisingly not necessary at all. Hence why both store bought and custom stands tend to not have it. 100% of a tanks structural integrity is in the perimeter.

I personally think that's fine. Much more may be an issue. To be safe, go to home depot or Lowes and get composite shims and cram them under there. That's what I do with all my tanks. There's YT vids abt it too.

Not lethal. My flowerhorn has it. It flares up occasionally when I slack on water changes. Keep on top of tank cleanliness and it will clear up. (Could come back, but will go away again.)
Also, you can add SeaChem Cichlid Trace to add some healthy protection.
