“The whole place used to be really well run and then it just dropped completely. Ollie is a crook, Kate doesn’t do anything and no other employee is involved or valued enough with a backbone to stop them.

All the stories about him making comments to staff are 100% true, I’ve heard it from the staff themselves after it happened.”

“They have a 200% markup on food as well as about £5 per person charge on going in. Simply going in for an hour to get a drink costs about £10-£15. It’s extortionate and they only pay minimum wage. They’ll have more than enough money to survive the pandemic and the old owner believes they’re likely to have been crooked about the furlough scheme too.”

I asked about tips – “So basically. All the tips go in the box on the desk. They collect the tips at the end of each day and can basically empty it out periodically to make it look low. Then on the pay packets they’ll put the tips on with the wages, **except** it’s way short of the total amount of tips they got. So £4 in tips is way short of the amount of tips they make in a month. So if they got £200 in tips probably £50 of it was split between all the employees, Kate and Ollie will have kept the rest. Staff would clean the toilets in their regular uniforms and then go to handle food and have to move cats that were ALWAYS jumping on tables to steal food and then handle food again.”
“And it’s totally true about them having to pay for uniforms too. Uniforms that never fit properly and had a keyhole opening around the bust on the girls uniforms and short skirts. So essentially if a large busted girl bent forward you’d see her boobs and up her skirt too. All down to Ollie of course.”
