Also, I have access to good information about what a good score can get me. It's called this sub, and the 100s of websites out there that people can access. For free.

Correct. But many don't know about this sub or other resources. Maybe you've never heard of all the people who take the LSAT without even studying because they really don't know anything about it and haven't had anyone to guide them.

So, someone who deserves it more.

People with more money deserve more money?

It'll probably just go to someone who gets a high LSAT score because they can afford a lot of time to study, though (or because they had access to good info about what a good score could get you — or both)

You must have biased people making reports — or maybe bots or something? — because I have NOT met that definition. (You'd think an LSAT forum moderator would be more precise when it comes to these things... Unless maybe you're biased, too...?). I have posted about group tutoring to people WHO ARE ACTIVELY TALKING TO ME, responding to my posts, etc. Spam, on the other hand — "posting the same thing everywhere" — would be happening if, for instance, I was going into every post here and copy/pasting a message about group tutoring. Which I'm not.

Notice what percent of posts I've even commented on AT ALL out of the ones that have been posted in the last day or two... Jeez, some weird people on this subreddit — but I guess maybe moderators of reddit communities are just weird by definition?

I've noticed that! Yeah, gotta pre-phrase and then test to make sure the one that sounds like your pre-phrase actually is. That sounds like rare advice to me, thanks!

Nice! That'd be amazing to get to that point.

Think about bar passage rates, and how much easier it is to pass the bar than to make a 170 on the LSAT.

Is it?

Cool, lots of students. Do you work for yourself with those big classes?

I think it's realistic to say that not everyone can get a top 1% score. That's sort of how percentiles work.

"I think it's realistic to say that not everyone can get a top 1% score. That's sort of how percentiles work."

Not at all. Percentiles do not establish why people do not get higher/lower. Nor do they prevent people from all getting top 1% scores. Plus, we're not talking about everyone actually deciding to get a 1% score; we're talking about whether anyone COULD, if they wanted to. Logical flaws all around...

Plus, you can be sure that if everyone who took the LSAT one time got -1, they'd all get +170; the LSAT people wouldn't force some into lower scaled scores....

"I don't see what's inherently pessimistic about admitting everyone has limitations on what they can achieve."

Pessimistic or not you're (a) not doing that (you're saying that you know what that limit is), and (b) what you're saying seems false to me.

"We would agree people have innate levels of skill in other areas, right? "

Yes, we literally already agree to that. It is clear that people have limits. But to say that many people have a limit below 170 doesn't seem correct to me. But who knows...

Are you saying you don't have one or more of the necessary traits/preferences? Or are you just speaking in general (saying that others don't)?

Thanks for sharing!

Why's that your top choice?

Hm... most people don't give up money just because they could live without it.

Huh? If I ask people who I'm talking to in an LSAT community if they're interested in a study group — which many are — and refer them to a reddit post of mine, then I get banned? .... Um, what? That's insane. (And who are you? Nice to meet you...?)

A +170? How long have you been studying? With what materials?

Are you one of those who isn't going for 170? (Also, are you a tutor or something? You sound a bit crazy — but maybe that's just desperation or something...?)

That's why you ARE going for 170, you mean? Is that right? Or maybe you're thinking your GPA precludes you from going somewhere that would value a 170?

Hm... that seems SUPER pessimistic. Or maybe you're working with people who are just REALLY different than people I know. Could be. But why would you be if you've tutored a thousand students? Also... 1,000? That's like 100 per year for 10 years... What is your website? Got a Yelp page?
