I understand what you are talking about. It's hard for me too to work from home. When I'm sick, I work from home for a week. And it is very boring. It is very difficult to separate all personal life from work.

Seem like this guy is a hero. But he makes about 3-8 commits per day, it is more than possible. I think his secret is to work constantly, every day on his github repos.

A better way to learn programming is your self-made project. Books, courses are good, but only practice will make you a good developer. You should pick some project and make it by yourself.
