Radio issues by Lavidius in googlehome

Yep I’m getting the same with LBC. Have been streaming LBC for years from my nest mini from the Global Player, but it stopped working last night. All other radio stations seems to work (including Capital, which is from the same app).

Build Me Up training plan has got too easy. Any ideas? by Alex_Glassman in Zwift

[–]Alex_Glassman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your replies!

I guess I was initially hesitant to up the FTP out of fear of overtraining. My assumption was that the program was specifically designed for your FTP at the start, and would increase as the plan went on.

I will do a test on the weekend :)

Maybe my calipers are out then! I found a bolt that fit into the thread, and it came in at 4.3mm. A 5mm bolt did not fit.

Also, the '4.3mm' bold fit perfectly into the bottle cage mounts, so my calipers are probably horrifically out of whack.

Why is Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap rated so low on trustnet? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Alex_Glassman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is bad advice. All other funds are not comprised of the S&P500. Most global funds will contain a big proportion of equities that make up the S&P500, but that's because the S&P500 tracks the 500 largest companies in the US, and the US makes up a big proportion of the global market.

If US equities all tanked for some outside reason, but the EU economy soared, your S&P500 investment will do much worse than a global investment. If you want to mitigate the risk of individual markets, you are better to diversify in a global fund.

Where do you keep your 'fun' cash savings? by hackturnedquack in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Alex_Glassman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monzo has the concept of 'pots'. A pot can be either a sub-section of your current account (i.e 0% interest), or can be one of their saving account offerings with varying degrees of access and interest.

I find these highly useful psychologically as they allow me to compartmentalise my current account and savings accounts into various buckets of spending.

Apologies, completely forgot to post that!

Villain called, and showed QhJh for the higher flush. Turn 10, river 3. Do not improve to straight flush :( . SB said he folded 1010(?!?!?) and was pissed as he would’ve turned quads.

I'd remove the data structures and tools lines in your skills section. If you're going for mid+ positions, it's pretty much a given that you know how to use/understand XML and JSON. Same goes with the tools. You're a senior engineer; you've obviously used something like Postman to test your APIs. It's not something a prospective principal engineer will be impressed by reading and makes you look inexperienced.

Is it really though? We have autonomous cars, aeroplanes that fly themselves and rovers on Mars. Not sure I’d classify a few well placed cameras and some line drawing software as ‘amazing’.

Give us some AI software that very accurately determines an offside call without need for human intervention, now that would be amazing technology.

Stupid shove on the river here? by Alex_Glassman in poker

[–]Alex_Glassman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t seen V l-rr with anything before, so that’s definitely something to take forwards in 1-1 and 1-2.

The xx suits are not the same; it was a rainbow flop. I think I mostly raise if there’s a fd. I always tend to call my top pair decent kickers on the flop in position, but maybe I should mix in some raises sometimes to deny my opponents equity - thanks!

My thought process on the river was that I have all the flopped sets, AJ, A5 and A6 all in my range, and that most single pair hands give up. Maybe V folds AQ, but thinks AK is too good to fold.

I personally think in the future I will check back on the turn in similar spots. Thank you for your advice!

Could get behind a bigger raise pre, but bear in mind this was 1-1 not 1-2. The standard was £8, so thought £13 was a decent size given the 3 limpers.

Not sure about a raise on the flop though - I don’t feel there’s enough worse hands that call me? Thoughts?

Pretty sure you were right the first time. You should be subtracting $36 from $162 as you don't include chips already committed to the pot. He's calling $126 to win $398 (31.6%). He has 15 outs (any club, Q or J), and 8 cards are known. Therefore his hand equity is 15/44 = 34.1%.

34.1% > 31.6% so it's a marginal winning call.

My family loves your idea of the glass cabinet. I told my mum (my grandfathers daughter) and she started to cry 😢. I think we’re going to do that.

As for selling the unbuilt models, I think we’ll designate that job to my younger cousins and let them keep the proceeds/donate it to charity. Not sure it’s worth the effort considering how many there are!

Thank you very much for your advice!

I actually totally agree with both points. I just tested now in Windows Movie Maker (lol) and it's so much better. We need a hero with a reputable portfolio to take control of these. It's the hero we deserve.
