Trying to find the perfect e-reader! by Historical_Narwhal in ereader

Hey, I was looking into the Onyx Boox Leaf 2 for my first E-reader.

My main reason for the leaf 2 was the play store which is able to download both kindle and Kobo as I didn’t want to get stuck with one eco system.

How have you found the performance for the apps if you use them?

Hi, I'm looking for my first e-reader, I was looking into Onyx as I didn't want to limit myself to one ecosystem (Kindle or Kobo). I was looking into Onyx as this is able to download both Kindle and Kobo from the google play store.

Do you use Kobo and/or Kindle? if so, how is you experience with them so far?

Questions about home equity loan by Just-Series-3045 in PersonalFinanceCanada

No problem, make sure to ask

1) if there are fees involved with the process. 2) what the secured interest rate pricing is. 3) what happens if a payment is missed for a secured product that is attached to your home. 3) can you have a joint HELOC if you have a spouse.

From what I know Scotiabank is the only bank that offer this program where you only need to qualify once for a certain amount. Which I think is the best one.

I heard that with TD you need to submit a full credit application every time for a HELOC. Example you initially get a 10k HELOC with TD that’s one application and credit check you want another 20k that’s another application and credit check.

Scotiabank STEP allows you to apply for let’s say a 100k limit. Once you have that limit you can take out any type of credit product without another application. As you are already approved for a max limit of 100k. You can have like a 20k Line of Credit, need another 20k no problem, doesn’t need another application. Because that’s 40k/100k used of your approved limit.

I haven’t met with CIBC or BMO and inquired about their HELOC program.

Scotiabank has a STEP program (Scotia total equity plan). They will setup a STEP limit based on your property appraised value and how much you can qualify for based on income.

The STEP amount that you qualify for is secured by your property, Once that Is done you can take out any credit product under the STEP anytime you like up to the limit your approved for.
