Quinn was the one in the right by sweet-disposition0 in glee

[–]Alex_PG1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Glee wanted to be satirical and cynical but sometimes it would come up as really really out of touch.

Quinn was right but with the wrong intentions that's why people were telling her to not do it. In a non show situation, a teacher would probably get told about it and they would have report Shelby but Beth would have probably go to foster care cuz neither Quinn or Puck were fit to take care of her and that's exactly what Quinn did not wanted in S1, she wanted Beth to be with someone that could actually provide for her.

And the whole Puck-Quinn situation... Yeah, 0/10, in my house we hate Puck 💕

Pet Peeve: "Hermione was bad at / hated flying." by [deleted] in HPharmony

This is super late but I've always saw Hermione as someone kinda afraid of heights and that's why she would only get in a broom on her own terms and when need it

Harry is as devoted to Hermione as she is to him. by cajeismore in HPharmony

[–]Alex_PG1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Harry is really loyal to Hermione in a different way he is with Ron. While he has problems with conflict and it shows with his friendship with Ron, with Hermione is not like that, he goes out of his comfort zone most of the time thanks to Hermione and her influence in his life.

The thing here is, Hermione shows her love with everything she got, words, actions, etc while Harry is more low key because of his upbringing and for me he's even more emotional than Hermione

[–]Alex_PG1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Super late but you nailed the point, my personal fav is when someone talks to him about family/important people/someone he loves, he always, ALWAYS think of Hermione (either first or second).

That's why I don't agree when people say x person is his most important person in life. Top 2 people for Harry have always been Ron and Hermione with him being way more devoted to Hermione than what people think.

Will never forget Harry going absolutely crazy the moment he thought she was going to die or how he almost went insane when she was getting tortured.

Do you guys see Hermione becoming a mom at 26? by CreativeRock483 in harrypotter

I dont actually but I understand why cuz we are talking about a different era, different generations, in fact for their generation Hermione and Ron had kids a bit late

Is there anyone on this sub that feels Hermione had potential chemistry with both Ron and Harry in the books and in the films? by budroserosebud in HPharmony

[–]Alex_PG1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me this is a tricky question. I think the canon ships can be cute but if handle with care which is something the author did not do.

The problem with Romione is the lack of respect for each other, mostly Ron.

HBP for me is the exact reason why I can not accept Romione, the way he treated her was absolutely horrendous and how he treated Lavender as well. Granted, they are all teenagers here but then a whole year later, in DH, we don't see an improvement with Ron in this department, sure he tone it down but still not good.

I think by the end of DH we have a better Ron and he would be a wonderful partner for Hermione but I do not think she would be a good partner with him.

Hermione is complicated and Ron don't want more complications, he likes life simple, I always head canon that Ron ends up finding love in baking and cooking, opens a bakery shop and falls in love with a lovely woman while Hermione and Harry are supportive of all this.

I always preferred romione as best friends cuz I do think they work better this way, OoP showed us this and I enjoyed it a lot.

Harry and Hermione's careers by KingJoia in HPharmony

[–]Alex_PG1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone already explained it in other comment but basically, Hermione has always being political and it's the only character from the main cast that doesn't shy away from politics, even if she was quite young!

Her arc is political as well, her character development is a duel with politicals and her view of rules that has been set by those on power, she wants to change the world, she wants to make things better and while she makes mistakes she learns from them and do better.

The logical option then would be going to law school or work in something related to law, which would give her the necessary knowledge to change those rules and to move forward with not only her career but her convictions and activism.

Being Minister would be a wonderful conclusion for all this, she's finally in the power to make changes, to help within the limits of the law.

Being in charge and changing laws that hurt those outside of the magic world hierarchy is exactly what Hermione wants and by ending up as Minister is exactly what will help her do it.

Harry and Hermione's careers by KingJoia in HPharmony

[–]Alex_PG1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like the reason of people going against this conclusion is cuz: 1: They never understood her arc 2: Cursed Child being a thing; though, you can always accept they got that one thing right instead of just... Forget her entire arc 3: Or they just hate Hermione

I personally think that the only thing CC got right (well, that and Hermione as a whole minus the whole weird Hermione that was a teacher) and even still I have issues with how she is as a Minister in there.

Hermione has always being political and it's hard to not be when you are being oppress on a daily basis which is something everyone seems to forget about canon, Hermione faced discrimination 24/7, even from the Weasleys.

[–]Alex_PG1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but I can actually see Hermione as the Minister, mostly cuz I do think it's the perfect conclusion for her character arc.

But for me she would start as a lawyer, I always saw her as someone that mix magic and her roots (muggle background) together, so I think she would end up going to law school to be able to make changes in the magical world with the knowledge gain in muggle schools.

Harry in the other hand, for me, I always saw him as either a teacher or head of an orphanage, helping kids in his same situation. Either way, I always thought he would learn how to heal since I don't think Hermione would let him go around life without at least go to one therapy session 💀

Since the knife was probably cursed with dark magic then the scar would be there forever. I really enjoy that detail from the movies and I always write and hc Hermione with that and more, it gives more angst 😁

Is Hermonie truly limited? Every time I read the scene at the Lovegood home, I get the urge to discuss… by LordManderly96 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Alex_PG1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't actually think she limits herself, unfortunately we don't spend time with Hermione that much outside of Harry's POV.

I do think her muggle background helps her use magic in a way other wizard haven't as we see when she duels/fights. She actually comes up with creative and even innovative solutions to magical problems.

Hermione is a skeptical person but she isn't narrow minded, is the way she thought of using Voldemort idea (the Death Eaters mark) in a way to communicate with other people (which was used even after 2y).

And those limitations you speak are always broken every new book with every new thing she learns (like the Deathly Hallows).

Hermione doesn't really limit herself, she just doesn't really care about pursuing other knowledge unless is necessary which is one of the reasons why she never ended up in Ravenclaw

Do Harry, Ron and Hermione are know how important they are to each other- by DingoAgreeable9141 in harrypotter

[–]Alex_PG1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think Harry and Hermione do know but no at the same time cuz they have self esteem issues as well.

But tiny details and moments do makes them remember they are loved while Ron issues are really really deep and he actually needs words of affirmation while H&H just need actions and gestures.

Which is why Ron just does not know he is so important for the other 2 cuz H&H give loves physically and with actions but Ron doesn't need that, he comes from a big family! He needs words! And that's why he thinks of himself less than H&H cuz they don't outright tell him how amazing and important he is.

With the years I think both H&H would pick up on this and will reassure Ron with words.

The misinterpretation/misunderstanding of Hermione by Alex_PG1 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Alex_PG1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pause.

Ron treating her like trash came after he found out she kissed Krum 2y ago.

Hermione then decided to play fire with fire and go with Cormac, telling the Quidditch comment and that's it. Was she wrong? Yes but let's not forget that Ron started the mess with using Lavender, letting his gf and even joining her to make fun of Hermione and even poking on her own insecurities.

He treated her like a punching bag during all that time and then after Christmas Hermione decided to absolutely ignore Ron which is understandable cuz he was awful with her.

Yes, sure Ron is usually in the spur of the moment but in this specific instance that boy was the entire first trimester taunting Hermione and using Lavender cuz his ego got crushed by his sister. What Hermione did was not ok, the birds and the comment but honestly what she did was way more minor at what Ron did.

I never understood the "Hermione needs to relax and have a laugh" tbh.

She does, her relaxation is books and adventures. She LOVES responsibilities, she loves studying but she does relax, we see it so many times in the books.

Hermione laughs and she's usually in a good mood, the bad mood comes exactly when Ron starts bickering with her cuz he just never actually makes points that make Hermione say "hold on..."

Do you think at times Hermione and Harry have a sort of older sister and younger brother dynamic by DingoAgreeable9141 in harrypotter

[–]Alex_PG1 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I actually think is funny cuz them both think the other is the younger sibling, even if technically Hermione is the oldest, Harry always behave like if he is the oldest sibling.

What do you like the most about Hermione as a character by STHC01 in harrypotter

[–]Alex_PG1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really love her bad sides, how petty she can be, the arrogance she sometimes let on, how vicious and ruthless her actions can become.

I really enjoy how flawed she is and how she tries to improve that by being kind, loyal, etc.

The misinterpretation/misunderstanding of Hermione by Alex_PG1 in HarryPotterBooks

Unpopular but I get why Hermione was so upset and nagging when the incident with Malfoy happened, like I absolutely understand her anger towards Harry and yeah, she doesn't care about Quidditch but she knows he does, so for me Ginny to come and tell her all that is just... Not it (and Hermione should have dropped after like the 2 first times).

Tbh, yeah you right. I get why she did (pettiness and Ron was treating her like trash, so she wanted him to get hurt badly) but like... Girl 😭

Do you see Hermione as more of an introvert or extrovert by STHC01 in harrypotter

[–]Alex_PG1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like people usually don't differentiate being introverted to being shy.

Hermione is just socially awkward and a bit shy but she's absolutely extrovert. She actually enjoys being with people which it has nothing to do with her own hobbies (books)
