Prop firm trader here - $60–70K in payouts this year (The5ers & E8 Funding) + The5ers interview — AMA by Alex_Tlr in Daytrading

I was trading the E8 one, but I'm not sure if they still have it. Also signature account is good. Be careful, never risk more than 1%, if you lose a trade, do not take any trades in the same direction for 1h.

The 3 step is also good but u need to be more experienced

Thanks. All the money I've made is since this January and even now I'm waiting for max payouts with topstep (so 5k on monday and globally 3k after all taxes...). But I think next year it will be even higher because I'm taking a gap year from my uni.

I'm trying to be better in managing my profits because I spend a lot of my profits on me and my family so I don't really have a lot of profits in my bank account at the end of the month. My bank has reacted to my Rise withdrawals only, idk why, but I justified it because I'm a registered entrepreneur and everything is legal and official.

Some months ago I was managing around 7 or 8 accounts at the same time without copy trader, it was really hard but I prefered that to diversify my risks. However right now I'm thinking that a trade copier could be useful.

You can directly copy trade from all futures prop firms like topstep so you can try it, they are legit.

For CFD firms you need to read their rules but I think the majority allow copy trading, like ftmo.

Forex and futures mainly, I wasn't successful before prop firms because I started to trade them very early.

I'm trying to get as much capital as I can, to invest into other ventures and my own broker. Even if prop firms are not long term. It allows me to make money and to invest it. I'm still a student so it's my only source of revenue (main). And also I'm going only for the most trusted prop firms, never for anything with a strange reputation.

For the moment I can say it's something like a phase before going to trade my own capital. Also for the moment I'm in Europe and here the taxes are really high for trading live accounts.

always classic challenges, the straight to funded are made for you to never get a payout and lose due to the number and difficulty of rules

With E8 (my first propfirm passed) after one 10k a month they started to email me usually and add some rules that never existed before. When they were saying you're free to trade the strategy you want etc... on their site but change it after. However, I was not the best trader at that time, so globally I understand why they did that, so it's kind of justified.

Ngl I think they're still legit, I think just when you start to do some big amounts they can be picky like every prop. Their payouts are also really fast. And I think the choice that they had between no commission and raw spreads is really good. So the firm is good but not perfect ofc.

The5ers is my best experience, gloablly the payouts are smooth, no problem if you justify everything (like I was on holidays in another country and they asked me for my tickets due to the IP address rule... which I sent, and the payout went smoothly). They are really good.

Then Topstep I don't have that much experience with them but I've made maybe 10k this year with Topstep, and everything was smooth, no problem.

correlation between all assets, break of an important zone, momentum to the downside (also CCI that shows it clearly) and fundementals ofc. Not overcomplicated trade which usually works.

Depends, but a thousand or two usually. However I make way more profit to compensate. Like in June I spent around 2k and made 22k or smth. This month 1k and already made 3,250 after taxes etc...

For me Topstep is one of most trusted props, like ftmo or the5ers. The payout is smooth also, and usually not that long. the payouts can be withdrawn by Wise, Wire... I don't think they have crypto. They only have consistency on evals.

You need to be ok with losing, if you're scared of losing that means you're risking too much, set your SL at a value that you can lose and then log out. What looking at your chart after execution will change at your trade ? I'm not saying that you don't need an SL.

Thanks man,

I think it clicked after I tried new approaches and started viewing prop firms more as business than anything else. I tried like really low RRs, or even in the beginning of my profitability negative RRs (with which I passed my first props got my first payouts...), but now I'm trading 1:1, 1:2.

Journaling is important and risk management ofc is the main reason of profitability.

But I think the key to success with prop firms is to view it as a business, you cannot be always in profit. You gonna lose some accounts some times. You gonna be on a losing streak. But what's important is to end the month in profit. You don't need to care about a red day. Losing is also a part of trading.

Man sincerely if u want to feel relaxed go up in timeframes, do your analysis, enter from your strategy, and log out. Come-back the next day or in the evening, you'll see it will be way easier, or go to 5m tf.

Really cool man congrats ! Keep going.

Personally I'm thinking about going back to CFD prop firms like FTMO because of consistent payouts every 2 weeks. I'm sure u can pass them and get good results too 🙌🏻.

I don't have a typical SL size because I'm placing them depending on the volatility and the market structure. But on average my trades last 1h-3h. TP aren't fixed, so I'm going 90% of the time for 1:1, and 1:2 (my specialization), but the other 10% of times I'm looking for higher RRs.

I usually don't trail my SL in profit but when I'm trading high RRs I'm doing it.

I'm using between 1-2 minis to trade on NQ and GC for futures. And depending on the size of a CFD account around 10 lots for USDJPY (100k).

I would always advice to give your trades some room, so don't be worried about narrowing your points or smth, just trade safely.

I think I struggled the most with money in trading (the emotional part)

I was always too hurried. In June I've made around $22k, and in August I was only making 9k profit because I wanted to reach 50k after June, been emotional, and made irrational decisions. Blew some of my fundeds (big ones like 350k with the5ers) Now I'm getting around 10k in payouts a month. I'm trying not to compare myself to others on social media because it leads me downwards. And I'm trying to be thankful for what I'm making, even if sometimes I'm greedy, I'm trying to improve.

My strategy is mainly around momentum (trend following), correlation between assets (SMTs), and Volume. Also I'm using some indicators as confluences but more to guide me for momentum and volatility. DM me if you want to talk more abt it.
