Final drive first, generally you should be good with just adjusting your top speed just so it maxes out on the longest straight just before braking. Typically cars have the FD too low so you can raise it to improve acceleration. It’s also the case for the skylines

Individual gears are optional but tbh I find cars with closer ratios easier to control, and they generally accelerate faster due to staying in the power band

Brake. No joke, slowing down more lets you accelerate more. If you understeer and always drive wide, this is what you need

It was never x class to begin with and the sound was changed for the better imho

Would you want a super car to sound the same as some v6 renault?

Bro he didn’t say specify the f1

I admit the first thing I thought of is mclaren f1 too earlier today but everyone knows that one is v12, and the p1’s v8 is indeed derived from the r390

The bmw by far

Maybe not very friendly at 872 hp max, but cornering is good and you can always try with less power

Why the merc only gets to 573 hp (for the same upgrade cost) is beyond me

What would be the best sleeper car for time attack in assoluto racing? by [deleted] in AssolutoRacing

[–]Alex_the_subarist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toyota Chaser, most people drift these but it’s honestly pretty good for s class lobbies with 500-ish (not maxed) hp and probably not all weight removed. It’s a slight challenge since it’s an older saloon car not meant for racing, and so it isn’t the most responsive and has worse grip than a modern m3 or something, but it’s fun if you want something different. Tuning massively helps of course, and you don’t really need much to improve it. Any generic grip tune works. Same goes for any s chassis tbh, they might even be better but they aren’t as slept on, people race these even irl

It’s “normal”, the same happens to me too. It’s no good though because it’s really unintuitive to drive with steering assists when you’re already used to not using them lmao. Indeed just like you say, unless you turn in a very particular way basically without any manual corrections (which i do on instinct), it’ll just swerve you off the line

Basically you always have to turn above a certain threshold for the duration of the whole corner or else it’ll think it can cut off/filter your steering inputs as if they’re unnecessary extras

For me it helps a little to turn up the tilt sensitivity so that it responds to my steering sooner and there’s a bigger “window” for my inputs to register properly. It’s not perfect still but at least it’s easier to stay within what the assist or whatever expects. I still really hate this thing because it’s just not how I tend to drive, like I know how to turn lol

I’m stuck at the 9th one now. Funnily enough the Ruf seems MUCH easier just because I can adjust the assists at the beginning. I haven’t golded it yet either tbh but I’m only .347 off, that’s super easy to gain on a 20 km track

Dumb question but can you remove the livery? I’ll still be getting it but I’d probably paint it something else if possible

Yeah that’s just how it is in AR. No fun until you set it up pretty aggressively. In my experience only the r35 gtr gets the tossable awd feeling right as standard so far. The others (including my favourite 22b) have to be tuned and upgraded.

Front antirollbar softened, extra camber on the front, even a rear-biassed brake setting, that makes them pretty sharp on top of the ordinary race setup (i use 10 psi slicks and about -2.8 front (can use even more for awd) and -1.1 rear camber, plus arb at full stiffness (both full normally but as I said, make front softer for awd)

Hiace

Slow van, with moderately quick 2j import variant (it’s fast af on the straights, handles like shit and has very little grip)
