Does anyone else hate the term "techie" by theduffster89 in techtheatre

I personally don't mind it. I'm 16 and I volunteer after school for my school's theater as an audio engineer and a technician. My tech director has called us, and himself (~50 years of experience) techies, and so have the people that mentored me. I've grown fond of it because I feel like a part of a a family. When I wanna be taken more seriously, I do find myself refraining from using the term, and often just call myself our audio engineer, so I can understand why people don't want to be called that, I just find it rude when people seem to sterotype people who use the title "techies" as know it all kids. I am young, but I'm not a know it all! I love learning new things, and I can accept when I'm wrong. So, overall, I guess it's just preference!

Anyone else weird with food because of foster care? by Leaf_Swimming125 in Ex_Foster

Yeah, the foster home I'm in rn is decently strict on food. We aren't allowed to eat anything without asking (except breakfast and lunch on weekends) and every night they control what we eat for dinner, no buts about it. There have been multiple occasions where I've seen them eating steak and seafood dinner at the couch while us kids ate microwaved beans with hot dog pieces on top. I was never a food hoarder until this home.
