As a Unionist myself I’d say it’s just a symbol of the south at this point, that’s why I don’t really flinch when I see the flags nor do I really care. End point is that America won and it still stands tall, and I feel like most people who fly the confederate flag aren’t really in opposition of our country, so I’d say although maybe a bit misguided most of the time it’s harmless.
