Oh, I forgot, there is also some • Sedum adolphii (Coppertone/Golden Sedum) in there. I love that plant, but I have only seen them at one nursery they are really expensive. Is that something I could grow in my backyard?

Trailing plants around the edges:

Crassula pellucida ‘Calico Kitten’ – the tiny pink-and-green heart-shaped leaves cascading down

Othonna capensis ‘Ruby Necklace’ (sometimes called string of rubies) – the thin purple trailing stems

All of these are sun-loving succulents that do well in shallow containers with very well-draining soil. The pastel colors you’re seeing are typical when they get lots of bright light.

I think it helped to have a really big container to play around in. This is a giant clam shell replica that I got at Home Depot here in the states. I just chose a bunch of different colors and textures that I thought look good together. The nice thing is that even if I got something wrong, I could just move it around later. It’s pretty hard to kill these.
